Reviewed TVS Wego

May 05, 2016 08:38 PM 39838 Views

This review is of 2013 make Wego which was launched(mid of 2012 till Apr-2014) after correcting some of the initial issues like battery.etc. I bought this scooter then only for a short-term usage with the primary objective to make someone learn riding a two-wheeler having a body balance but ende...Read more

The above review was originally posted by me in a different forum http://compare.pricesofindia.com/review/bike/tvs-jupiter Never mind if for someone it is important to be spread further. Okay so to elaborate this review. It’s a good choice over the present market leader particularly if you’re ...in a metro city. Pros: - Light weight , easy to maneuver .No much effort required to put and pull it back from congested parking lane on own. Was hesitant and confused during test ride but fine till 60 KM/HR speed - Mileage – With 2 services already completed.. Returning 48-50 KMPL in moderate traffic in Bangalore. Hope it will to settle at 52-54 KMPL after the 3rd service. - Headlight – Bright and with Dimmer. - Service – Satisfied with local TVS dealer. Changed ratchet for smooth Kick operation without any cost. I guess it was a MFG defect specific to my vehicle. But I do not write it off as it may happen with any other make..Also noticed other small fitment issues which was fixed during service. I personally look at primary aspect of any vehicle and judge issues only in terms on economics and if resulting in complete breakdown. - Ride quality – Similar to Wego very composed ..Somewhere between a bike and all other scooters. - Turning Radius – Short with minimal effort.. .Important to cut through traffic and sudden lane change. For me this is a key differentiator.. Acti..3G requires lot of effort and for 125 better to avoid saying. - Handle – Remains in line with almost no vibration to feel connected with the road. Cons : - Durable – Too early to say but perhaps not durable to last 5 + years. But body panels are priced reasonably. - Rider Seat – Was not comfortable earlier for a continuous ride of up to 1.5 hrs. Seems fine for now. - Torque – Slightly less than Acti..3G - Petrol Lid – Should have been fitted neatly. Read More

I’ve recently purchased Jupiter after using Wego for nearly 40K kms. In the past have used Honda Dio as well. Seen several Jupiters at TVS service clocking more than 50K kms without any engine overhaul. Jupiter is agile and much more involving to ride than Activa. For short trip usage do check Wego ...which is marginally heavier than Jupiter but well-built among all available scooters today.Read More

Activa 3G powered by 125 cc engine !!!!. Not wise to go only with online reviews. There is no mechanical change in this model. Though it sold record units which was expected due to minor change but after 3 yrs same suspension issues will crop up.

For everyone's understanding . Please include few more details as which make, service interval followed etc... I know initial Wegos (pre-2013) has lot of problems but those are largely addressed and from my experience it is relatively a good scooter to what competion offers. Mine gives an average of... 43-45 in City running.Read More

The battery issue was sorted for models produced from late 2012. The problem was with the low ampere battery used initially. Infact the present Wego is a 3rd revision with major changes.

Heard about Kubera Motors bad reputation. Be it service or sales. I suppose you can talk to TVS people at their regional office at Kormangala. Thogh Jupiter is capable vehicle but choose a good service centre. I'm happy with my Wego servicing from Trijal TVS at Mathahalli.

Wego is prone to wobbling easily but it is not due to any design fault.. Just make sure front forks are adjusted with required tension during each service. Done 14k kms and do not see any abnormal wear in tvs conta tyres. Just that these zapper tyres if ridden in event of puncture then for sure it g...ets dis-oriented easily. I learn from my experience which was also confirmed by dealer (Trijal TVS,Bangalore)Read More

The power cycle of 4-stroke engine is not continous as in 2 stroke.Gear ratio is a later part. Anyway we do not have any commuter bikes today to provide feel good factor of riding RXs,Shoguns even at slow speeds.

Please elaborate what was the reason identified with your vehicle. I never had any such problem with Wego -purchased and regularly serviced at Trijal TVS,Whitefield.

Review appears to just downplay TVS efforts. Well I’m fully satisfied with Wego which I bought after painfully using Dio and Unicorn. Wego engine is much smoother and superbly tuned for mid-range urban requirement. Complete relaxed and economic ride. No doubt Suzuki Access initial pickup is goo...d but the overall package is not that great with changing demands. Brake setup is still weak. Read More

What Ertiga offers ? A heavily compromised 7 or 6 seater, Neat but no fresh front and rear design. I think Enjoy's competition would be more with Innova instead(atleast in fleet sales) It will taste success but gradually as most of us are not yet ready for van design.

Unlike you I also went to test ride Swish (at Aryan Suzuki ,Whitefield) primarily to avoid buying very common Activa,Access. Swish was little bit more engaging to ride when compared to Activa..but confused not sure of the body spares availability in future and prompt service from this Dealer.Particu...larly the body color fibre parts if broken are not easily available on demand-atleast what I heard from a Dio owner. BTW what was your experience with Swish especially while taking sharp turns. For my phys..(5'11'') it was just about and I think sudden sharp turn at high speed could be problematic.Read More

Hi , RXG was launched next to the legend RX100. This bike has taken every one by surprise in those days as it was with all the problems you stated above and the firing note was also not loud and commanding one as RX 100. Its was biggest and possibly the only failure bike of 90s. Spending anything... on this bike is a mere waste.Read More

You could go with indica .. as it is primarily meant to take abuse of rural roads. And moreover service stations are situated in close proximity in any part of country.I personally took a test drive of new indica vista and used the previous models in village. Its better than the other options you ar...e looking at. Swift is only good incase you want a new design vehicle.Read More
