There is no guarantee that the deal will work even after confirming with the merchant. I lost Rs. 1200 on a 'confirmed reservation' with Golden Tulip, which later refused to acknowledge the deal.

It looks like ShopClues is not even interested in the resolution of the issue. I had reported the problem on the very next day of receiving the defective product, and it is 4 days since I filed the return request, but the company is not interested at all. I have poor experiences with so many Samsung handsets that I am planning to be done with samsung forever. Not a single piece without issues: (i) Samsung Galaxy 3, (ii) Samsung galaxy grand (iii) and now, S4 - poor quality components and service. I will now shift to some other brand such as Gionee.
