Well I guess you learnt it the hard way, being a sort of an insider in the business of timeshare, I can vouch for the fact that timeshare is a tricky business and one should spend considerable amount of time going through the lines (and in between them) before signing up for the agreement. I kno...w it doesnt make it any better for you but the fact is Club Mahindra is sort of a better player in the timeshare market as compared to many others who are still worse. Anyway I hope your trouble with them is resolved to your satisfaction... Cheers J(e)DIRead More

.....Sitting back I just wonder how nice it would be if I could read a Pooj/ Angel review along side an Afrank review or for that matter a premjit/ spookay review alongside a psyxx review... would you not like that Munir? I love Mouthshut and yes have spent a considerable amount of time being a...n incorrigible adict at this site... I still love my time spent on it and I have no issues accepting that its one of the sites never fail to visit while I am online.... but then just as I point out flaws that I notice in best of my friends or the closest in my family (whom I love and admire) I guess I will keep pointing out what I think are flaws of mouthshut... as long as there are people listening... I hope I have cleared my stand... I am open to discussion... please do not hesitate to correct me if I have made any mistake... Thanks and Regards J(e)DI Read More

..... What stung me most about your comment (yes it did sting me... I had long back taken a vow that I will not get emotionally entangled in my reviews or the comments I get on it, but believe me I have faltered).... is your statement that the review has tried to show the newer members in poor light...... Munir, I do not see anything in my review that even remotely suggests that way. If you notice anything of that nature in this review or any of my previous reviews, please do bring it to my notice... I will summarily take off those parts from the review(s)... I do have to admit that I spend considerably lesser time at MS as opposed to earlier days... consequently I do not really know much of the new members... yes I have a liking to writers like cticize, afrank, psyxx, activeace, Paulose, Criminal .... I haven’t read them enough to really start writing about them... also these members being the current regulars are often in the reviews (either their own contributions or in that of those written by others) ... so most new members do get to read their views... My review was about some members who are not active now and who have shared some brilliant thoughts on this site... I do not know if many of the new members have read sujay, angel009, pooj, Venchasa, eyesopen, spookaay and the likes..... If my review prompted a few members to just go these members' pages and read their thoughts ... My purpose is solved... There are obviously several new members on the site who write wonderfully well... in fact there will be more who will join this site in future who might write even better than any member has written until now... I only wished that the members who were active here earlier were present too ... we can never get too much of good can we? Sitting back I just wonder how nice it would be if I could read a Pooj/ Angel ....... contd...Read More

...coming to 'sudden outbursts'... well Munir you have got that a little wrong... Apr-8-02 8:00 PM, was the first time I reviewed Mouthshut on Mouthshut and if you happen to read that review, I have placed my opinions about Review Of the Day, Rating, Commenting etc in it... Ever since, be it in... my comments on reviews related to MS or my reviews on MS, I have raised issues like SORT, MS-Points (do you know what we are supposed to do with MS-Points? Not that I need to earn a living selling these points but still, while it is there whats wrong asking about its utility?), Reciprocal Trust Lists, Baised ratings, Comments written for the sake of commenting (Must admit here that even I have made these mistakes in my early days) and of course the criteria for banning members or allowing them to continue..... I have never said that I hate Mouthshut for these... I have always said that I would love Mouthshut even more, if these anomalies are rectified. Believe me these are not suden outbursts but views that I have aired for quite some time.... contd.... Read More

....What is that one spot supposed to be? Management Quota?? Why accpet it and move on? On mouthshut I have seen members question (Read shred them to bits) directors of the caliber of ManiRathnam, Musicians like A R Rahman, Cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Business Houses like Tata... but t...hen if I feel that the platform (which I love) that I use to air my views to the World, has a slight flaw, I should accept it and move on... sounds slightly odd to me... Coming to staying away and the 'inspiration' for coming back... I never really stayed away from the site... Yes I used to be more active on this site about two years back, when I was in the Teaching profession and I had some spare time to spend on the site... When I shifted from teaching to the indsutry, time constraints seriously affected my writing on the site, to add to that I was positioned at a remote place called Siddapur in Coorg from (January 2004 to May 2005), where the connectivity to internet too was very poor. I shifted to Bangalore recently and though I do not have much time on hand (check times at which my reviews are posted... usually after midnight) I still try and write once in a while on a topic that stimulates me enough to write.... hope that sounds good enough ... there are no malicious intentions in either staying away or coming back... As I remember, long after I got busy with my work and could not contribute in terms of reviews, 90% of these members whose names I mentioned in the review were still very active on the site, so I never got inactive at the site because of any members leaving it... Nor did I come back to the site to show anyone their place.... contd... Read More

Dear Munir.. In the first place Thanks a lot for taking time for reading rating and commenting and to me it comes through as an honest feedback so I accept it with open arms.... Coming to your comment I guess you have misunderstood the review (Sorry the right way of putting it should be that m...y review was not clear enough...). Some points I would like to add about your comment.... Firstly I do not consider me a veteran writer, nor do I chart history on MS as 'times before I joined' 'times while I wrote' 'times after I quit' (incidentally I haven’t quit, have never thought of doing that either)... so there is no question of 'our times' and 'your times' arising at all... If the review conveyed such a message I stand corrected. Coming to 'Amrita' fixation... I guess it was a poor attempt at humor (that obviously failed in this case).... Very honestly I do not remember when was the last time I wrote a review mentioning 'amrita'.... the interesting aspect from the comment, however is that in a review that’s over 6000 characters, the one line about amrita got you to decide that I have an 'amrita fixation”.... just in the same way I found (or tried to find) humor in the fact that of the 9 members in the HoF 1 member seems to be 'fixed'. On the same issue, I must point out that I have never had any interaction with amrita neither good nor bad.... as far as I remember and have always loved reading her firebrand reviews, though I havent always agreed with her views. But then your comment did get me thinking a little on this issue... why should I accept that 1 slot in the HoF will be reserved for a member (who ever that member is) and only remaining 8 will be open for other writers? contd....Read More

Pras... Pretty (not Preity..hehehe) exhaustive Review as one would have come to expect from you, but the over a period I guess you have started to go in for speed than accuracy with your reviews. This one especially seems to have quite a few typos, wrong usages/ phrases and a certain degree of 'U...n-Cticize' kind of feel to it. A review that is well formatted and with lesser spelling errors is a joy to read; while the opposite can be quite annoying and to me shows the writer's carelessness .... Read in one of your comments that you finished this review in '20 minutes flat' ... Well I don't really know, why that hurry. I would personally like to see better reviews from someone as gifted as you are than faster ones. Dont know what else to say .... I just could not bring myself to say 'Oh what a fabulous review' to this one ... like some of the others have done... Regards J(e)DIRead More

Very well written. I do not understand this noise about authenticity, when only facts available are those that are mostly based on lopsided British Historians. Response to Mangal Pandey both in press and review sites generally tend to be of the nature that 'Mr. Perfection has come out with a movie a...fter 4 years... Now let me try and find faults in it...' Good Review Mate!!! J(e)DIRead More

Well 50% fact and 50% fiction is a vague assessment from my end (read Critic's License LOL).... I have no authentic records to check upon the life and times of Mangal Pandey. Yes I have read two or two and half lines worth of information somewhere during my history classes in school. Maybe if I did ...a Master's in Indian History I would have learnt some more, but these are also views of some historian with certain amount of bias either towards East India Company, The Queen or The Indian National Congress or the Coumminist party.... How authentic could they be... given an option I would rather watch a fictionalised movie than read a biased version of history... J(e)DIRead More

... LoL I guess the movie is aimed at them - Mass Class. Wahtever said and done, any commercial venture at the end of the day needs to rake in money. The preferences of a small percentage of audience that would like to see authenticity, cannot become priority of a Movie made on the scale of MP - TR.... By saying this I am not undermining the intelligence of the 'aam aadmi' (or aurat for that matter). Commercialisation is a part and parcel of the art industry. Read your review and agree with your views, only wish you had elaborated further on them. I love to read longer reviews with more of the reviewer's views coming into public domain. Taking nothing away from your review, thats just a personal opinion. J(e)DIRead More

Do you think I meant Aamir was crap in the movie? Well I guess you did not read the review, the way it was meant to be read. Maybe the way I wrote it did not help much. But just to settle all doubts, let me mention again, I thought that Aamir's portrayal of Mangal Pandey was quite impressive. Wh...at happens when a star plays a character its rare that the star is completely unnoticed. With all his experimentation and innovation I guess even Kamal Hassan ( I beleieve he is one of the Best Actors that Indian Cinema has ever seen) does not manage to do that very successfully, nor have I seen a Hollywood star do it convincingly. To blame Aamir for influencing our perception of Mangal Pandey is unjustifiable. I hope that this settles the issue. J(e)DIRead More
