Hi Gaurav, that was a very well-written review. Not a single point left out. HHRPK is an immensely delightful movie, with great performances by the lead pair.Just the right blend of comedy, romance and sentiments make it perfect. And what a score by Nadeem Shravan. 'Mujhse mohabbat ka izhar karta'... and 'ghoonghat ki aad se' are magnificent numbers. The only blip which I felt was the song 'chikni surat tu kahan tha'. Other songs of the movie are so good that this feels a bit irritating. Last but not the least, I loved Juhi Chawla's tamil words (being my mother tongue, I found it particularly likeable). I'm hooked on to this movie now.Saw it a couple if times in the past few days LOL. Keep writing.Read More

That was an excellent review. Covered the best of the maestro's stunning bgms. My two cents - Listen to the BGM of Punnagai Mannan...out-of-the-world is all I can say... Keep writing!

I'm certainly not a person competent enough to judge a singer's talent by his/her voiceMoreover, it's highly subjective and purely a matter of personal choice. Anyway, I thought this is a nice place to exchange our views and opinions, so why not write about some gifted artistes whose voices we e...Read more

Wow! That's a great review. You have covered almost all movies of the talented film-maker. I love Hrishida's movies for his simplicity and the impeccable story-telling and dialogues. No wonder I've watched Chupke Chupke and Golmaal more than 25 times each..lol... Keep up the good work...

Anilji, choosing just two of each MD's repertoire is not easy. Moreover, I don't think Rafi sahab's songs fail to make a divine mark. In fact, I personally believe his songs are more appealing than Kishore da's songs and are certainly a feast for the ears(and soul) Again. I'd like to reiterate th...at this is strictly my personal opinion. I know you're a big Kishoreda fan. I'm a big fan too myself. Maybe I'd say Rafi sahab was the first among equals! No offence :-)Read More

Yes..you too have great choices. Chitragupt reminds me of my father's favourite song...'Chal ud ja re panchi'.I don't listen to it quite often, as I feel like crying after listening to it...So touching is the song.

Thanks for your comments. As you mentioned, I found it very difficult to select a paltry 20 songs. To be frank, I haven't even heard the first three songs :-(...I'll hear them soon. The last one is a great one though.

Yes,all the songs you mentioned are great no doubt. But, as you mentioned, there can never be 'the best 20' or 'best 50'. Each one of his is a masterpiece in itself. Even a 'tapori' song like 'Deewane hain deewano ko' (Zanjeer) sounds so good, thanks to Rafi sahab and Lataji(not to forget KA, the MD...). I really feel Rafi sahab had the 'MIdas touch'.Read More

I wrote about my 20 favourite songs of Lataji yesterday. How can I ignore Rafiji then? His voice is another that has a tranquilising effect on me and never ever fails to amaze me. 20 songs among an ocean of melodies in a silken-smooth voice is just a drop in the ocean.Anyway, I'll list 2 song...Read more

That was a great review. Very informative.'Chaudhvin ka chand' is definitely amongst Ravi's best, if not the best. For unknown reasons, Ravi was (and is too, in my opinion) the most underrated MD of the golden age of HFM. He struck a good rapport with Mahendra Kapoor and B.R.Chopra. Who can forget '...Chalo ek baar phirse' and the songs of Humraaz? Another great song of Ravi-Rafi is 'ZIndagi ke safar mein akele they hum' from the movie 'Nartaki'. Picturised on Sunil Dutt.Read More

Being my first review, I thought I'd write about someone whose voice I listen to everyday and gives me a sense of warmth, a blissful feeling really. It is quite difficult to pick up just 20 songs from the Lataji's vast repertoire. Anyway, here are my personal favourites, which I love to liste...Read more
