I dont think the problem is the compressor. Frostfree fridges needs to defrost several times a day, otherwise the cooling coils get completely iced and cooling is reduced or even stops. Defrosting happens via a mechanical or electronic timer. This circuit also contains a sensor. Compressor is shut d...own an a heater coil behind the freezer box melts the ice off the cooler coil. If for some reason any of the defrost components dont work, the heater will not get power and defrosting does not happen. I too was told compressor had failed, but read on the net about this problem across brands. So I rewired the fridge with and external timer to defrost every 6 hours for 5 minutes. This has been working for more than 6 years now and I have not had the issue ever sinceRead More

If they send through Gati you never get it on time. As simple as that. I have had the same experience of delivery delays from Amazon. Everytime it was Gati. Why Amazon has them as a delivery partner is beyond me. Because Gati is a fly in the ointment.I have had no delivery issues with other couriers... only Gati. Twice through Indian Post, even worse! My to be tried theory: Limit your purchase below free delivery level. You pay for delivery then and it comes through DTDC or someone else well within time.Read More

Ground clearance does not look impressive. Overall size is a little more than a i20. Rear seat leg room is not adequate. I overtook one in my EON and it was faltering at the bumps and potholes. On the curves too it was not able to keep up. But on the straight stretches it was fast enough. But ...that is no credit to Maruti or Suzuki because the impressive 1.6MJD engine is from Fiat Italy! Little wonder for the performance of the engine, which is all that is impressive in this otherwise mechanically mediocre vehicle.Read More

Why is it that these 'horror' stories happen mostly in Kerala? My 110PS has completed five services at the authorized service center. Not once have I had a positive experience. Why does one feel like a cattle entering the slaughter house each time we go to service our vehicle?

@machamadavijayvija I bought Duster in March 2014. From the beginning it was always pulling to the left. Complained to Renault and the dealer (TVS) They said alignment is ok. Just like in your case front tires started wearing on the inner side. Neither the dealer nor the company provided any data ...on alignment figures. Even then I took it to an alignment shop and we found the steering box was not in central position. This was corrected. All this happened at about 2500 km. Since then there is no tire wearing out like before. Vehicle has covered more than 30000km. Still all four tires are wearing evenly. I have given strict instruction to the service center not to rotate tires or check alignment. As long as they dont touch or tamper it is running perfectly. Alignment shop says tires will do another 10000km minimum. Vehicle is okay but customer service is terrible both by dealer and Renault.Read More

I couldnt agree with you more. Many years ago Lee had a fantastic range of pleated pants . They were called 'Leesures'. They could be used as casuals or formal wear. Lee also had a wide range of shirts. Both these ranges were okay even for 'oldies' like me. Unfortunately Lee for some reason stopped... both these ranges and moved on to jeans(denims) which are no patch on the older denims. Fortunately, when I find something good, I buy enough for future use. So, I still have several brand new unused Leesure pants that I will use when the current ones are no longer usable. Since I bought those Leesures I have not been able to find a worthy substitute for them till now. So its just me and the Leesures now. One of me and about 2 dozen Leesures!Read More

@webhaw. I too read about Hyundai reducing the vibrations on the newer models of EON. But for me this issue was not a major concern because I shift down to lower gears if the speed is reduced. This keeps the engine very much within its scope to deliver power, thus eliminating any vibrations. What I m...ean is, do not shift up to a higher gear if the car is moving too slow.Or you get the vibrations.Keeping the car in a lower gear till optimum speed is reached will not reduce the fuel mileage. Currently I get about 17km/litre which is not bad for my kind of driving. More than the vibration issue the bigger problem is the Electronic power steering that behaves inconsistently each time I use the car.Coupled to this are the stupid explanations from Hyundai service staff, as if all their customers are ignorant morons. "Saar, this is because the battery in a EON is having very low amperage so they have used a very small steering motor, that is why the steering is tight" To the question : "If that is the case how is it free at speeds below 10kmph?" "Saar, those are technical issues which we cannot tell you!". Which world have these people come from? Now you can understand why I dont recommend the EON in my review.Read More

Ashwin, Ages ago I had an issue with the security guy at the Warriam Road Sree Krishna after which I have never visited that place. You know the difficulty in parking in that place.Once I took my family there. I managed to somehow park my car without the help of the security guy who just stood there... with folded hands while my wife guided me while I reversed into that space. When I locked the car and started to walk into the restaurant, that security guy called me from behind and tells me I have to move my car because I couldnt park the car there. In no polite language I asked him what the f*** he was doing while he watched me park the car. Like a broken record he just kept on repeating that I couldnt park the car there. I got fed up, gathered my family and left. The food might have been good there but the treatment I got left much to be desired.I have never gone there after that.I too have studied and worked in the hotel & restaurant industry so I know how things are supposed to be done. But this was too much.Read More

Dear aaankitsharma613, A brand new car has to run in before it can optimum performance and mileage. So do not expect great fuel economy when your car has done only 500km.Things will change once it crosses 1000km.And to get better mileage never drive the car at slow speed in 4th or 5th gear. You will r...uin the engine, gearbox and axles. Note the speed when gear indicator tells you to change to a higher gear. When you slow down and reach that speed shift to the lower gear. Do this and your car will give you long service and good mileage once it has run in.Read More

While I was deciding which model of the Punto to select, (budget stretched only to the Emotion MJD) I had gone through the product brochure and also the data provided by the sales person. One thing I do remember him mentioning was the Emotion Pack (Diesel) had no alloy spare wheel . Instead a Tyre... repair kit is provided for the tubeless alloy wheels fitted. I vaguely remember something being said about the recess for the spare Tyre being in-adequate to properly hold the 15" alloy wheel. My Punto Emotion came with 14" steel rims and a steel rimmed spare. aroundrvw, IMHO the reason for only 4 alloy rims is much more than mere cost cutting by Fiat. Read More

So, how is your pelvic bone? Has it improved after the surgery? If it has improved, remember that post operative care (nursing) too played a major role. Please dont crib just because you did not like the way they shifted you from the bed to the stretcher or vice versa. The nursing in Medical Trus...t is not as bad as you have portrayed. I had my 83 year old mother there for 2 weeks. She has been critical of the nursing in every other hospital she had been to. But she was very happy with the nursing in Medical Trust. I personally have found the nursing in Lourde even better. But, read the -ve reviews on some of the other hospitals in Cochin and consider yourself luckyRead More

With all that parking space about which you have mentioned twice, why is it that the adjacent roads to this mall are blocked with parked vehicles, creating headaches for motorists passing by on the National Highway? As you claim, it might look like a shopping mall from abroad. In looks maybe.... But it definitely does not feel like one.It felt more like a busy marketplace with window shoppers and ’mall tourists’ outnumbering actual shoppers 100:1. Not exactly my idea of a shoppers’ paradise . Looks more like a local substitute for Veegaland!! Read More
