Do youself a favour; next time you travel from DXB to COK, take Emirates.......it will save you from heartache and misery not to mention your sanity !! This is a top tip, or tip from the top from a fellow malayali !! And why shouldn't Kerala have 3 international airports ???

We have a number of low cost airlines in the UK which has revolutionised the airline industry here. One of the good things about low cost airlines is that they provide competition to the traditional airlines and help bring airfares down. The consequence of the success of Easyjet and Ryanair here... in the UK , is cheaper fares on British Airways & British Midland. So Indian Airlines , Jet Airways and Sahara, WATCH OUT !!!Read More

I enjoyed reading your review on AI. Although well written, I feel you were making excuses on behalf of the airline for being so dreadful. I have flown the airline several times in the past ; the inflight crew are rude....no I don't expect an all smiling service but I do expect to be treated ...with a degree of courtesy & respect. Punctuality is a problem and the aircraft are in a tired state. Ground service.....what ground service??? Yes I agree that certain groups of passengers can be difficult and unpleasant to deal with, but these people also fly on other airlines and they seem to be treated more tactfully than by Air India staff. Air India is competing in an international market place for its custom with airlines like Emirates and Singapore Airlines. There is no getting away from the fact that Air India is a below average airline & most people would avoid flying them if there is an alternative. I agree you with that the airline needs to be privatised and freed from government involvement. Look no further than the example of Jet Airways.....proof that India can produce a world class international airline if only allowed.Read More

You say in your entry regarding Dubai Airport, that it can handles 2 million passengers a day....very unlikely my friend....not even the two busiest airports in the world together handles that much traffic !!!!!!

This airline clearly needs to be privatised, but the Indian government cannot see this. You only have to look towards the success that is Jet airways; it proves that with a decent management in place (instead of incompetent idiots), Air India can be a world beater to challenge the likes of Emirates ...and Singapore airlines.Read More

Well-written, but I think you mean to say that Oman Air fly the New Generation Boeing 737 aircraft, rather than the Boeing 747 which is a huge aircraft used on long haul intercontinental routes, and not by Oman Air who do not have any of this aircraft type.

SARS is caused by a mutant form of the coronavirus which is one of the viruses responsible for the common cold. Part of the difficulty for this illness is that there is no specific test which detects this virus (scientists are presently busy developing one) , and so the diagnosis is one of excl...usion i.e. the presence of atypical pneummonia, the absence of other causative organisms and a positive history suggesting contact with an infected patient. The virus is spread by inhalation of droplets dispersed by sneezing and contact with respiratory secretions. The incubation period for the illness is 2-10 days, and so it is suggested that those who have been at risk of exposure be quarantined for 10 days. The present WHO advice is that all non-essential travel to Hong Kong and the Guangdong area of China be deferred. Despite the publicity around SARs deaths, 90 % of those infected get better, the remaining 10 % are more severely affected often requiring mecahnical ventilation. Around 4 % die. There has been under 200 SARS deaths to date over the last few months. Not to belittle SARS, but the common cold would have killed more people over the same period. However SARS dose have the potential of spreading uncontrollably to become an even bigger global health menace with severe economic consequences for the countries it infects as seen in Hong Kong and Singapore. Your review is very well written but overlooks the fact that Saddam Hussien was a very nasty piece of work. Don't get me wrong, I am very sceptical about America's reasons for attacking Iraq and by no means support this pre-emptive strike. Let us not forget that Saddam was an evil despot who ...gassed the Kurds and executed political opponents in the thousands. And there was no excuse to invade Kuwait despite the reasons you have stated. I do however feel sorry for the Iraqi people who now find their country in ruins, only to become an outpost of the US in the Middle East. Read More

It would be rude of me to mention the actual price paid for the flight................. Nevertheless, my flight was about 20 % cheaper than the next fare, as I recall.

Gulf Air has recently been displaced as Qatar's national airline by one which bears its own name. In the last few years, this airline has grown from being a regional operator to one of the big players on the international scene. I apologise for being so blunt but your review tells us absolutely nothing about the place, its attractions, its people, tourist facilities , etc. You may want to consider these points when you next write about a place.

How can you possibly write a review on an airline you have never travelled with?? I thought the whole point of this website is to hear personal experiences of products and services directly from the horse's mouth. No offence mate, but this simply is not on !!!
