The Maruti Eeco had a rather soft launch unlike the Ritz and A-star. But that does not mean that the Eeco is just another Van like the Omni or Versa. I believe that the Eeco is a common man's Multi-purpose Vehicle. Practical motoring at affordable price, I think that is what truly defines the ne...Read more

@ Vivek Short but informative review. Vivek, i often wonder why TATA does not improve the quality of workmanship. . TATA should also think of competing on quality level rather than just competing on the Price factor because there are many prospective buyers who do not mind shelling a few thou...sands extra for better quality in a TATA product. Anyways, i hope the car dealer rectifies the problems soon. Cheers.Read More

Hi Madhan, i cannot answer the technical aspects of the problems that you are facing with your Esteem but since even i own a Nov 2004 (type 3) Esteem i wish to clear some of your doubts. Believe me the Esteem is a trustworthy family car. Vibrations from the dashboard, rear spoiler and bonnet are com...mon in most Esteems and it has to be rectified during every service. If you are a soft driver, your car will surely give you about 10 kmpl in the city. On highways if you maintain a speed of 70 km/hr to 80 km/hr between 1500 to 2000 RPM in 5th gear, you can expect about 17 kmpl. Since you have purchased a used vehicle, you cannot sure how the previous owner handled the car. So i advice you to take the car to an authorised maruti workshop and get it inspected and serviced in your presence. The supervisor will check all aspects of your car and will inform you the actual condition of the car and what kind of repairs are required to bring the car in top running condition. Later it is your discretion whether to get the work done from an authorised dealer or local garage. Any maruti authorised dealer all over India will charge Rs.650 for servicing an Esteem.Read More

Your technical knowledge is commendable. You have rightly said that Honda is not giving the Indians the latest in automotive engineering, though they ensure that quality is top class. Even in the 4 wheeler segment their cars are not 'feature rich'. Secondly, i have observed that in Mumbai, Honda dea...lers have some kind of arrogance in their behaviour . . . they take their customers for granted. BTW, your's was a short but informative review. Cheers.Read More

Hello Subhojit, i would recomment the Unicorn, especially the black one without any graphics. It looks bulky, has a superb engine and great stability at high speeds. The CBZ extreme too is a very good bike but its too flashy. On the other hand, Unicorn has subtle and matured looks which i prefer. Ho...nda’s engine and technology is beyond compare. However, in Mumbai i find that Honda dealers are very arrogant, i dont know the situation at your place. Don't expect any discounts on Honda products though. Cheers Jeev BalwantRead More

Dear Rakayush, in my personal opinion you seem to be misinformed about LIC’s Claim paying statistics and financial soundness. There could also be a possibility of you having a bad experience with LIC. I wish to inform you and everyone concerned that LIC’s claim settlement ratio is 96.97% and it i...s the best in India. But like every prudent insurance company, LIC will certainly reject claims that are proved to be of fraudulent nature. Secondly, when LIC’s Financial ability to pay Claims is challenged, i wish to inform you and everyone concerned that LIC’s Asset base is over Rs.5 Lac Crore (thats a 14 digit figure). LIC’s yearly income is over Rs.1 Lac Crore. Similarly, it is also one of India’s biggest Real Estate owner besides Indian Railways and Port Trust. So rest assured that there are no worries on LIC's Financial ability to pay any bonafied policyholder is concerned You may also note that LIC is India’s biggest Domestic Financial Institution and it has played a mature and dominant role as far as investments in Indian Stock Market is concerned. Time and again people have witnessed how LIC turns a market saviour whenever there is a Stock Market crash. Finally, in a customer base of over 17 Crore policyholders there are bound to be some policyholders who have complaints against LIC but also remember that LIC has been voted as ’India’s Most Trusted Service Brand’ consecutively for the past 5 years, ever since this prestigious award came into existence. And even if your worst fear comes true, please remember that LIC and Provident Fund has a sovereign guarantee of the Govt of India unlike UTI or any other Financial Institution. If you have any genuine complaint against LIC, please write to the IRDA or Insurance Ombudsman which are independent bodies governing Insurance business in India. (Rakayush, I am an employee of LIC and i thought i should clarify certain points to the best of my ability and i have no intention of proving you wrong on thiRead More

I agree to your most of ur valid points, but santro is not as bad as Maruti 800 as quoted by u. At the same time it isnt comparable to the Wagon R either. I seriously wonder why Hyundai India Motors is neglecting the Santro.
