Well Samantha ... I have read your review and it's very interesting. Like you I too am a Nova owner from Mumbai. If you have read my review, you would realise that I've had problems with the bike too.
As regards the braking as Milind has rightly said, if you apply both the brakes then the likeli...hood of skidding is minimized.
Since you have been going to Laxmi. Let me comment on them..... their service SUCKS..... I think Kinetic needs to seriously look at their service centres.
I had a problem with the bike suddenly dying when descending the flyover and when I was doing around 50kmph and all they could tell me was that there was no problem with the bike or engine. Finally I emptied the tank cleaned all the debris with a cloth and filtered the petrol back in. Voila ! problem solved. They don't have this much brains....
Regarding stalling of the bike they told me the same thing that the piston had seized. I had the mechanics from Lucas Corner, Khar West, check it out - guess what ? it was only a blockage in the fuel intake tube. Once cleared the bike was back on the road.
I suggest that whatever bike you buy ... don't buy it from Laxmi and never give it to them for servicing. You would be better off if you give it to Lucas Corner at Khar West and please wait there for them to finish the servicing as they allow you to see what they are doing to your bike unlike Laxmi.
My friend also recommends Alisha at Mahim but I haven't been to them so can't comment.Read More

Well guys .. although the review is replete with spelling mistakes and it's only the negative side of the story. I'm sure dinakar appreciates the good points like looks & storage.
I've faced similar problems with starting the scooter especially in the mornings even after using the choke. Thou...ght I was doing it wrong and checked with the mechanic and a friend who bought the scooter at the same time like me. I still have to get it checked once a month. All this despite servicing it every 2500 kms or 2mths whichever is earlier.
I agree with dinakar that kinetic is unable to keep their promises and their maintenance costs are too high.
Can't comment on the mileage bit as there are too many factors that come together to give you good mileage. Tyre pressure, riding habits, traffic congestion, quality of petrol, engine oil change, cleanliness of air filter, gear oil change are just some of the factors.Read More
