Looking at the job description, compensation, work from home culture, and their selection procedure(so many tests, interview on skype and as usual so much uncertainity) and all those, it seems that it is the same old company DevFactory! It was initially recruiting under a name called DevFacto...Read more

Came across a nice questions raised by someone... very Apt questions... posting it here for helping readers.... Scam Submitted Oct 14 Adrian May 1 post - Taiwan - Joined Sep 05 2013 It's an identity fraud operation. If they got your ID, you'd better cancel it before the bills arrive. It'll cost me a...bout 300 USD to replace my passport now that I got suckered. * If they only hire the very best, why do they want your ID before even processing your application? * If they're so smart, how come their web site has been down all week and how come the google cached version from a week ago looks like the first web page ever? * Why can't you find the company details online or who the CEO is? * Why does some bloke in Croatia own their domain? * If they're trying to build a high-quality name, why do they change it every five minutes? * Why did I get an invite on a Saturday night for an interview on Sunday morning? * Why doesn't the interviewer tell you anything about the company, seem to have any clue about the job you're applying for, or even have any questions he wants to ask you? * Why did he look blank when I merely asked what programming languages they used? * Why did my skype crash for the only time ever half way through the interview, never to start again, and why was that computer unusably slow until I reinstalled it? I reckon the people on here saying they got paid are members of the gang. And oDesk is also in the gang. Beware.Read More

@snklras... Man this is the part of your job to protect the image of devFactory and you are getting paid for that. I am not being paid for this and this is not my primary work. I can not keep putting my endless energy into this. It is just that I was feel cheated, I got manipulated, I was manhandle...d, extremely pressured, tortured, made fool and an exact victim of your vicious plans and malicious motives. And that is why i am extremely angered (remember 'Angered' not 'Frustrated', it's again a huge conspiracy of putting wrong words into our minds and mouth so that the blame goes within instead of outside!!! I can write a whole book on that but leaving it for now). So I have decided to expose this and tried my best to reveal their motives. At the time I joined there was nothing on the net that is exposing this trap so nakedly. And at the end, it is always a matter of personal discretion to decide what to do and what not to do! So leaving it on others. I did my part.Read More

@snklras... :-) ... a pure/typical offshore outsourcing manager who knows what to feed and how to feed a developer's mind! Great job as a manager! You know the trick! But If I summarize you, you mean to say, nothing is easy to understand and simple to do in this field/job. So the rule is to always b...e stressed and confused! So you won't have time to understand management tactics! Wow!!! A nice feed! Also you are projecting that you and others, who are very satisfied with the devFactory, and still searching for its review on the net and landed here accidentally and written very casually!! Wow!..... :-) Who will buy this story?! At last, I noticed that you are trying to dilute and divert the focus from the most important thing of the review i.e. malice and hidden intentions of the devFactory. It would be stupid if I also start giving you a heed to your stupid feeds! But still try your best and All the Best!Read More

@jraz Don't you think spreading awareness about a pseudo is a productive work! Your comment is more centered on 'Stop...!'. Instead of proving the message wrong, you are shooting the messenger! All these what you are seeing here is just a result of me thinking very objectively that why ...it didn't work for me! And then I found ohhh it has worked exactly the way they want!!! :) I have given a lots of reasons in above comments. I will try to give more reasoning and observations if time permits.... stay tuned...Read More

@snklras You are leading people towards confusion and I am leading them to clarity. You say no one knows why contracts are getting terminated and I say this is the reason. you say there could be many reasons for things being fishy, I say this is the exact reason behind it. Let people use their dis...cretion. Let them test if they have time and energy. If they found things similar, they can decide very early and save their time and energy and if they experience something different, then let them feel they won a lottery!Read More

Hi Anirudh, What I can understand from your writing is 'it hurts! Specially when truth opens up on a large public platform!'. But truth is truth! You cant keep making people fool for a long time. I am not a person who lived in my own dreamy world! I have experienced a full contractor life c...ycle with DevFactory/gDev/gTeam. A full contractor life cycle doesn't end with termination of your contract. Even after that they will keep posting you about a job opening and prompt you to apply! if not on oDesk, then on eLance! Also very smartly tells that you are identified only by your email id which you used to apply. So indirectly shows that they don't have any history of yours!!! I can give you a permalink of at least 10 people who have joined them with me (more or less a week/month around) and also a date when all of them have left/terminated their contract! And you will surprise to know that none of them was able to complete more than 3 months with them!!! :) So would you consider this a fact? Even now you are just offering that 'simply work for 1 month'. Man why only for one month? :) We are ready to work for a very longtime if they are paying these much! But the real question is... Do they really want us for a longtime?! Lets talk about a so called ... 'tough hiring process'. On one hand you say... it is a freelance kind of thing to do with everyday tasks... then why do you need a tough hiring process for such a day to day king of things! I know, I have given their weekly trial assignment for 3 times! And I got selected when I performed worst! So it is not genuine selection! Tough hiring process is just a gimmick! They engage 100s of people by paying lucrative amount and engage other 1000s by showing that! A lucrative offers, 10 different types of tests, 1 week trial assignments (and repeat multiple time) are just a way to detach people from their routine work/jobs and keep them stick around these freelancing platform!Read More

@snklras.... First of all... what you write is just some text instead of any real content. I have not shared things in detail... if I go on... everything will be exposed without any doubt.... Check on oDesk... every week they send 100s of invites... hires 50s of people... and terminate other 50 p...pl....Do you think this is a Google research center, MS or NASA's mission critical jobs? What the heck this type of recruiting they are doing... invite 100.... hire 50 and terminate 50 every week!!! :) Is that a global standard? And still you are writing some formal text which says nothing!!! And what do you say about their work...? Work is not at all exists there .... it is just that they need to hire some people and need to process their wages/salary to show IRS, they have to create fake work to make hired people busy... they cant tell to them openly that you are hired for some malicious purpose and not to do any helpful work. If you still have some questions ... please write it here ... i will try to explain.Read More
