Furtados is a pathetic pathetic place! I had ordered a Greg Bennett guitar from there and I was told that I would get it within 10 working days and had paid an advance. I was eagerly anticipating the promised delivery date and since I was gifting the guitar to someone I wanted to discrepancies i...Read more

This place is literally cheap. The owner has absolutely no concern for his customers and totally ignores anything and everything you ask for. The cottages suck so bad that it is difficult to describe in writing and my God the loos!!! I cannot even begin to describe how pathetic they are. All I can s...ay is that you'd rather answer nature's call in the jungle itself. I mean I understand the whole living in the jungle concept but this place is truly ridiculous. I'm a regular visitor to Bandipur and have stayed in many wildlife resorts around the country but this place is probably the worst!!! They have some gorgeous dogs though and like sowra_2005 mentioned before, they're the most friendly creatures at the place. Also one more ridiculous thing about the place is that they play loud music and I mean LOUD music till 11:00 p.m or so from the moment the sun goes down for the apparent reason that they wish to drive the wildlife away from the place!!! I am really serious, this is the reason why they play the music :) Frankly if I had to listen to music I would rather be in the city. Of all the wildlife resorts I've been to, this is probably the only place where this kind of thing happens so if you wish to enjoy a quiet and peaceful evening amidst the flora and fauna of Bandipur -not to mention have a good night's sleep- avoid this place with a barge pole. Oh ya I forgot to mention, the last time I went there (which was also the last time) way back in 2005, I had been with five other friends of mine and inspite of each of us paying the full amount all six of us were allocated one cottage!!! And to top it all the cottage was filled with ants, which we were totally unaware of when we ate our snacks and had our drinks in the cottage in the evening. When we told the owner the same he just said 'Oh!!! It must be a recent development. I'll check it up' and not a single appology. Please avoid the place. There are plenty of options.Read More

Tiger Ranch is a pathetic place. I'm an avid naturalist and wildlife is my passion. I've stayed in many a jungle and nature resort, especially in Karnataka, to tell you that this is by far one of the worst nature stays in India. True, in a jungle resort the absense of electricity, cell phone network..., bamboo huts and passionate off roading is the essence but this place reeeally takes the cake. Extremely unclean rooms (and I mean the mother of unclean) and really really bad toilets are the biggest attributes of the cottages (or should I say huts) here. The worst part is that the one single cottage is stuffed with beds for 8 people to stay in and the owner actually allocates only one cottage for a group of people of upto 8 ppl although he charges his rates based on per head basis, so you can imagine 8 ppl stuffed in a slum hut meant for 5 and sharing a really really dirty toilet. Like I mentioned before, it is one of the worst jungle resorts in India as per my rating. Pathetic place. Please avoid!!!! Don't spoil your visit to the beautiful Bandipur by trying to look for a dirt cheap resort to stay in and then end up in a place cheaper than you bargained for. Pathetic!!! These guys should look at some of the other budget resorts to get an idea of how a nature resort is run.Read More
