I am quite surprised by the comment that Mangalore should developed for keralas advantage?? why not pick a city in kerala instead of karnataka provided they do not strike for every reason. We need to be careful on how Mangalore grows we do not need another concrete jungle with people who do not u...nderstand the local culture or language. The development should be slow and well planned. It would be an ecological disaster if something happens to the petrochemical plant or any other chemical units. Western Ghats is in the back yard and this area has great potential for tourism provided our politicians wakeup and do something about it. Konkan railway is a disaster and the ppl of this region have to fight for trains or even to extend a train to Mlore. even Mlore railway station and Mangalore junction needs help.Read More

I guess balebair was not lucky to work at their city office, which I say is in the middle of the town. I am not sure why Infosys selected a place so far off when they had some great location nearby?? I shifted here from blore and have been working for another small IT firm and I am loving it for ...its smallness. You will know the difference if you have been driving in Bangalore. I agree that the main highway NH17 is in a pitable condition and it is pain for anyone traveling daily on this road. but most of the city road now is concrete so no issues. give it another year there will be more concrete roads in and around the city. Else Mlore is great of education, I mean you need to do some research before admiting children in expensive school. My son goes to Canara School(CBSE) and the fees is not at all very high. Healthcare is another thing that city prides in itself, its the best that you can get and at very nominal cost. you have some very good doctors here. That may be the reason that half of kerala is in Mlore. Food wise Mlore is disappointing specially for those coming form Blore. Not many options for Vegies specially after 8.30pm. Renting house and largely depends on the area you choose to stay. city center or surrounding may be slightly expensive. however there are good flats available for about 6k. Read More
