(Updated Apr 21, 2011 03:44 PM)

Travelling from Calcutta to South India by train during April 2011, Aircel proved that its network is perhaps the worst among mobile operators. During a total journey time of 28 hours, Aircel signal was not even available for 5 minutes! This is a disgrace and the TRAI should consider penal ac...Read more

Till 11.30 pm on Dec 7, 2010 I could use my Airtel connection even while roaming. The very next day callers to my number get the recorded response ''This is not a valid number.'' I promptly complained to the Telecom Minister, a top telecom dept official, the Airtel nodal officer and the appellate au...thority in West Bengal through e-mail. The response I got on Dec 9 is as follows: Thank you for writing to Airtel. This has reference to your e-mail dated 8 December 2010, regarding disconnection of Airtel mobile number 9933044320. We understand your concern towards the deactivation of Airtel number, we realize that this situation must have greatly inconvenienced you. We are a customer centric organization and as such would want every interaction you have with us to be a pleasant one. We regret to inform you that, the above mentioned Airtel number has been disconnected dated 8 December 2010 due to non usage. We regret the inconvenience caused. In future too, please feel free to speak to our call centre executive on 121 regarding any issue/concern. You can also email us at 121@airtelindia.com. You can get in touch with the Nodal Officer with your earlier request or complaint number if its still unresolved. You may send an email at nodalofficer.wb@airtel.in. or you may call at 9831234865 from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday. The Nodal officer will provide a resolution to your complaint in 10 days. If you do not receive a satisfactory response from Nodal officer you may send an email at appellate.wb@airtel.in. or you may call at 9831844865 from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM Monday to Friday. Assuring you the best of our services always. Yours Sincerely Sagar Kumar Appellate Office Bharti Airtel Limited. After such treatment, who would want to remain a customer of this infamous operator and suffer its customer centric attitude? Jago India, jago! We want a Bharat without Bharti.Read More

Network may be good but workers are dumb. Your experience is an exception. Then you too are being charged without making a call?

If the staff is like this, imagine how the owners must be. We can only hope that the company folds up as early as possible.

Thanks for writing the truth. It is due to such companies that we have a mega telecom scam in India. Nothing solid, only froth.

This comment is to show that company personnel can indeed perform when there is sincerity and concern for the customer. Mr Sushil Sharma of Godrej Bangalore telephoned me on June 14 and enquired whether the fridge was functioning properly after the compressor was replaced recently. I had been planni...ng to call him because of an occasional 'phut' and whirring sound in the fridge despite the new compressor. Mr Sharma said a technician would be sent. Accordingly, a technician, Mr Reddy, inspected the fridge on June 18. He found that the previous technician had left the fridge thermostat at 'quick freeze' and had forgotten to set it back to the normal setting. Mr Reddy explained that the occasional 'phut' sound was from the defrost timer probably because of the quick freeze setting. Otherwise, the fridge was functioning properly with the new compressor, he said. He also explained that the PowerCool compressor that had replaced the old one was compatible with the Godrej Eon. Mr Reddy also said we could call him if there was any problem in future. We are thankful to Mr Sharma and Mr Reddy. Such employees should be an asset to Godrej.Read More

We too had a bad experience when we moved from Chennai to Bangalore two years back. First of all, the chaps came very late. Then, when they saw our household goods, they were demoralised. They are probably used to handling compact stuff. The guys refused to take our puja room platform although a com...pany executive had inspected our goods and cleared everything. We had to finally abandon it as it was getting late. Packing was done very haphazardly and items were mixed up across categories. We were asked to provide ropes to shift the goods to the vehicle from our 2nd floor flat. The people demanded tips at both Chennai and Bangalore and we had a tough time unpacking as they wanted the packing boxes back immediately. We found that they had broken our study table drawer. No regrets at all by anyone!Read More

Fans made by small manufacturers in Hyderabad or Delhi are fine. You get more than value for money. The well known brands are so much bakwaas: you pay more and get suffering for free. In India brands as such have ceased to have the value or trust they once merited. Top names outsource their products... and are satisfied as long as they get their profit. Consumers hardly matter and are continually being duped in their endeavour to buy branded goods. It would be good if consumers encouraged small manufacturers, whether it is fans or food products or medicines.Read More
