Mr Debby,
The failure is due to the Internal Failure of the EPS Motor.There is absolute no precaution you can take as an user of the vehicle. If it fails just go to the dealer and get the faulty component replaced.If it fails then again get it replaced and so on.

I am sure you are having the Invoices of the Warranty Replacements.You must already have got 2 of them by now. Now if it fails again ask Hyundai Motors India Limited to replace the whole car with a new one. You should have compared the SX4 with the Chevrolet Avio 1.6 LT(Both without optional pack). Then the Engine CC would have been the same as both are 1.6 CC and Price difference wold also be marginal.
The ZXI Model of the SX4 comes with a Leather upholstry(stanley which is ve...ry expensive).Anyway chevrolet hasn't got one in any model of it. So lets leave that SX 4 model apart.
About the Mileage in heavy traffic Chevrolet 1.6 cc with AC on gives around 7.0-7.5 KM/L while in the same condition a SX4 would give 8.5 KM/L.
Chevrolet's gear box is slow to respond and its tough to change gears quickly.Its a bit clunky too. Not with SX4.
Well about power?? SX4 is far ahead than Chevrolet 1.6 LT in the initial pickup for sure.
About the resale value?? In chevrolet its horrible.Try selling your car after say 3 years. In SX4 you would get around 50% while in Chevrolet it would be 40%.
Try comparing the mechanical parts cost. Chevrolet is more costly.
Now with GM in bad news the sales of Chevrolet has dipped considerably over Feb. March, April. I wonder now what else is in store for GM.

You can still fit Oval speakers in your car if you can construct wooden tailor made boxes specially biult for this purpose.Generally independent accessory stores does all these sort of work. The authorised dealer will be reluctant to do this job as he has got to sell his recommen...ded accessories for this car as per as the manufacturer's specification which in this acse is the round speaker.
Generally if you make a survey of cars which has got door mounted speaker installation system you will find that they are all designed for the round ones. Round ones donot have the effect of Oval ones which are always superior compared with the former.
So if you are a true music lover go for the tailor made music system with oval speakers, amplifier and woofer. Again the wattage of the amplifier must be matched with the woofers and the speakers.Otherwise the whole system shall be underpowered. Consult someone who is thorough with sound networking techniques.Read More

Chevrolet doesnot kick in India mostly because of its poor resale value and the failure of its Opel Brand. So precedence has been set.

Actually these services are never recommended as per as the Service manual, except the Injector cleaning at 20,000 Km which should only cost Rs 300 Max ie Rs1,00 per Injector.
Throttle needs to be cleaned by 40,000 kM and it doesnot cost more that Rs2,50.
Other than tha...t all the other activities are not essential. Actually these soft services carry a high margin for the workshop so they give a hefty cash incentive to the personnel who gets the approval for the job.
Foe example a Maruti Authorised Service station gets a profit of 8 Percentage by selling a part while selling the above mentioned Soft Services margins can run high upto 50 Percentage.
So the best thing to do is just to stick to the Service schedule as given Kilometer or monthwise which ever is earlier as written in the User Manual.Read More

Its really unfortunate to know that your chevrolet spark is giving you so much trouble.I think its one of the rare problems and the Dealer Workshop is not able to make a diagnoisis of the same. I would suggest you to go to another GM Workshop and take a second opinion.
Howe...ver if the problem persists you should directly write to General Motors India or get in touch with them at their Regional office so that they can assign their own Technical Trouble shooter to make a diagnoisis of the problem. In any case since your car is already under warranty, replacement of any major parts will not cost you anything.
If you are not too busy now a days can you tell me the exact driving conditions when your car stops? I mean does it stop while slowing down or picking up speed or at constant cruising speed? is the Air Con on or off at that time? etc.
What have the dealer people checked till now? Have they checked the Electronic Fuel Pump, Wiring Harness, connecters and splices, have they reprogrammed the Electronic Control Module any trials have they made with replacing some suspected parts etc? Do please let me know.
