this was very useful - almost made me come to a decision of whether to do an overnight in the boat - especially with my 15 month old got to be careful with mosquitoes and such.

Surprisingly I had exactly the same problems, SAME KEYS conked off suddenly after 2 years of use - and the battery which was a loser from day one, suddenly stopped working - could use only on AC power - and from day one it used to get heated enough to increase global warming!!
Sony Service center ...India- replaced the battery and keyboard for a whopping Rs.13000, i bring it home and in two days the motherboard gets short circuited due to some moisture - whether it is the Sony Service center's fault, i do not know - but they give me a quotation of 32000Rs for replacing motherboard (with SOny India - there is no question of repair, only replace and loot the customer) - I freaked out at the quotation, and called them back after which they brought down the cost of replacing it to 16000Rs - how they do this I do not know! Anyway i wasn't feeling upto spending overall Rs.30000 (motherboard plus earlier 13K spent) on repairs which would not give me even a day's guarantee...
finally managed to get the motherboard issue sorted by a local laptop servicing center for Rs.2300 - so that i can use it until i buy a new laptop - which MOST DEFINITELY will not be a VAIO.

Exactly my point - if i have to put up with bad service then I'm content [SANTUSHT] with my cablewallah - atleast i can go to his shop, fire him and vent off my angst!

Asterix, harsh probably, but surely true...I have seen the way Hathway cable functions at my parents' place...atleast 30% more channels for lesser cost and most of the 'paid' / gold package channels on Tata Sky are available at no extra cost on that one.

Very good review- to the point and crisp. Only thing missing is the most important part of the review, ie. the name of the bank.
I am looking at various banks now to approach them for a loan, and now i may just be doing business with that bank despite your review, only because you haven't named th...e bank. SO please go ahead. In this day and age where consumer is king, we have nothing to be afraid of.
