Mileage in city is I think 12-13 with AC......There is some funny whistle like sound coming from below the car which the service centre people asked to ignore as it comes only in beginning and before switching off engine.....??? otherwise things are fine!!!!!any comments?

Dear friends, I’m overjoyed to share that I drove my beat from Hyderabad to Bangalore around 500 kms and another 500 kms from bangalore to Kannur (Kerela) and 1000 kms in 2 days on highway, it was amazing ride , drove on 110-120 kms for long stretches in AP and Karnataka and also touched 140 kms but... my relative banned me from pushing further up. Mileage is 15 with ac on!!!!! Its cool vehicle with no tiredness /less tiredness as compared to swift and so finally I’ll say east or west , my beat is the best. Won’t change it with anything. Road taxes in AP are the highest in country so I had to shell out 4.29 for beat which i’m sure any other state would be atleast 30,000 less for LS model.Read More

Dear friends. I recently drove swift for around three weeks and like 700 kms. my perception and comparison between beat and swift. Swift feels very light and acclerator responsive as compared to beat. Driving beat feels slightly difficult this is my third vehicle (maruti van for 6 months, M 800 for... 3 yrs then Chevy beat) still I took a month to adjust to it and I feel driving beat would be tough for ladies. Beat's inside and luxury is unmatched, Swift is far far behind in comfort. AC also and brakes are better in beat or may be just comparable. Final comment is that if you have to really drive a lot yourself swift will be better. Beat is better for everyday commuting and sheer luxury and if your pace is measured......Read More

Driven 1050 kms, its fun, but it does lose power on second gear if rev is low...... in other words, there is some lag in accleration in second gear if I change too quick to second from first and then the 'swift' person behind me wants to overtake me!!!!!!!! but once it revs up then the pick up is r...eally great and so it feels like a race car then.......and 'swift' hardly catches up with me............ Dear Friends, Every passing day I'm falling deeper in love with my beat!!!!It looks awesome in parking , can be seen from long distance, actually is in the league of skoda/punto , no comparison of cars like i10, santro, indica, ....A star is similar but smaller........ I've gained expertise in revv...ing up it uphill and its magnificent, thought initially i had difficulties. The mileage still 10-11 with AC on and jams ....... Its shock absorbers are amazing and slowly I've started disregarding potholes on roads and overtake cars which have slowed down for them !!!!!!!!!Read More

650 kms driven.......There is some element of truth in Mr Lalith comments as the engine noise is very much like 'may be a sports car' and some times yes I also feel the noise is there....... I think may be its beacause of the normal fuel....I plan to go for speed/ xtrapremium from now on.....

Thanks Mr Shenoy, No Chevy is not giving free 3 yr service....its paid. Another thing about low mileage---may be as I've been stuck in traffic jams for hrs...
