I had not covered the issue of the compressors. Thanks for bringing that to my notice. Well, a rotary compressor just uses a small pump to circulate the refridgerant while a reciprocating compressor uses a piston arrangement. The rotary, having less moving parts would mean less friction and henc...e less prone to wear and tear. This results in a lower maintenence cost. I had chosen a rotary. On the 'best AC' issue, I think that a price difference of say Rs.6000/- would take a really long time to make up in terms of the electricity bills. This because, either of the AC's is gonna give you a much higher Ebill. The difference in savings between the two is gonna be very small. So if one can afford to, i'd suggest going in for the brand.Read More

yes mojojojo the installation/stabilizer came to almost 20% of my total cost. Now as summer approaches, i'm appreciating the AC so much more... :) Good luck on your AC hunt and wish you cool summers ahead :D

General Tips while Trekking

Hey Neeraj, I am a nature enthusiast and love the outdoors. I have gone on a couple of treks and these tips would've really come in handy for me (especially the candle wax on the matchsticks!!!) Tip: I don't know how accurate this information is (cos ive never had to try this out myself), but... ive heard that on a trek if one suffers an attack of cramps, consuming salt in small quantities would give instant relief. I would like to add though that torture need not always be physical. Sometimes, even mental abuse can be as bad and drive a spouse to insanity. In a fit of rage, one may say things that has a cascading effet on the others psyche and ultimately ruin the family. I do think that this is an importan...t factor in many a relationship and is the cause for many break-ups. However, a steady and constructive thought flow process must be induced into the mind of the 'unreasonable' partner. Ya Preran these guys do have vegetarian food too... i recommend the Paneer tikka which is really great.. And about the Pathrodais, it is really typical of mangalore n the Pathrodai leaves are available only during the monsoons. Am generally a pure carnivour but i cant resist the pathrodais too :...)
