Deewaar was an epic movie since it catapulted Amitabh as an angry young man of the Bollywood industry. The was released just after Sholay trial blazing a new chapter in the industry. The story has been loosely based on the lifetime of Haji Mataan, who was famous smuggler during the 1970’s.

How the hero turns against the norm of the society since he was wronged and how the other brother who is bought up by mother to be a Police officer. The ultimate dialogue between the good and bad carries on throughout the movie. Praveen Babi was the love life of Vijay Verma and Neetu singh acts as a pair for Sashi Kapoor. The movie broke box office record in collection. The movie may be considered to be faulty script by many crictics since being a police officer and brother should have shot in the legs instead of the heart or abdomen. Well it is cinematic license for the director to show that good triumphs over the evil.
