Recently Dr. Narendra Vaidya, a Trauma Surgeon from Sion Hospital has started the EMS [Emergency Medical Service] on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near a place called Nigdi. This is in joint efforts with MMRDA and Sion Hospital,Mumbai. This emergency care is certified by the American College of Surgeons and the service provides well equipped ambulance facility on the expressway for any trauma, within 15 minutes.
