Yesterday I was both sad and happy.
Sad because I will never see you cream those silken cover drives and dance down the wicket poignantly to loft many a deliveries out of the ground anymore.
Happy because You finally got the fabulous farewell you have always deserved which was thankfully sans any unnecessary drama or controversy.
If there was one quality that really stood out in you all through your career and took you head and shoulders above so many of your contemporaries,it was the exemplary strength of your character.Your whole professional life has been so very well documented that I don't have anything extra to add to it that hasn't been said or written before. All I want to say is your contribution to Indian cricket is beyond the realm of statistics and people like me who understand this game will always be indebted to you for being the chief architect of the renaissance of the game in our country and for the sheer pleasure you have provided us with all these years.Your on field passion and aggression was a true reflection of the feelings of millions of fans like me.The way you made your comeback despite such huge obstacles has been admirable to say the least.
I don't know what are your plans for the future and hope to see you connected with the game some how,but this much I am sure of your
Dadgiri has made you unforgettable to me for the rest of my life.
All the very best for your future.
