I don't really know what a ghazal is.I once saw a Gulzar interview in which he stated that the word 'ghazal' means love.In the context familiar to us,that's Bollywood,a ghazal is a lovesong written mainly in urdu.Whatever it is,I love ghazals.They create a certain mood, an aura that's o-so-luxurious.And elegant.In Bollywood ghazals always have beautiful poetry filled with sophisticated imagery.They generally speak about and eulogise a beautiful lady's exquisite looks.I remember an ad jingle,"Sab Toh Gul Ya Gulab Kehte Hain/Hum Tumhe Lajawab Kahte Hain...".I am not sure why this line has suddenly come to my head.I guess it is symbolic of the concept of the bollywood ghazal that we really know-laidback,quaint and almost picturesque.
