As I made an effort to sing-along with farhan akhtar in my car on my way back home, I saw 'a guy' who works in 'some' office in my office building waiting for a cab. I slowed down and asked him if he wanted a ride and given the fact that his destination was en route my destination, I asked him to join me...
Since I had to strike a conversation, I started talking about the beautiful sea-facing flats at marine drive...and the moment I was crossing Chowpati....I saw a lot of people there...One could have easily made out that most of them are working professionals...
I sarcastically remarked 'Look at these people, not much work at office it seems...just fooling around on a beach and that too on a weekday...looks like they don't have a deadline to meet'
This is when the 'guy' who had been silent for so long said...
''You know Rohit, sometimes the city just closes in to you...after all everyone isn't living is big spacious places...and what better place to forget about the compromised personal space than to come to a place where you see endless water and just shout.....This is mine!!!''
The words from the 'guy' left me thinking...and I am still thinking...
Notice how many times I have used 'I' above.....
Notice how many times I have referred him as 'guy'
Notice he addressed me as 'Rohit' and I still refer to him as 'guy'
I haven't achieved anything in life...but so much attitude!
Guess if we can forget the 'I', the world would be a much better place to be...
Peace and equanimity
