In so many years of being in the USA, I had never taken a flu shot and didnt catch the virus either. Last Christmas, I decided to take one. And lo behold - I am down with the FLU !!

For the uninitiated, a flu shot is a vaccine that is supposed to prevent you from getting the flu. But the wise people in the health care business messed up and this year people who have got a flu shot have more chances of getting bitten by the bug!!

This info was on the local news that the flu shots were ineffective in keeeping the virus in check. I feel that not only is the shot ineffective, but it also made my immune system weak enough for the virus to affect me.

The symptoms are muscle pain, fever ranging from 99 - 102/103 degrees, chills, headache, pain in the ears, and dry cough.

I paid a visit to the doc's office and was told to take Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen in other words Motrin and Tylenol. Both are pain relievers and fever reducers but they work a bit differently. I also got Tylenol Sinus pain relievers and nasal decongestent. Also take vitamin C tablets to help boost your immune system.

Also, keep drinking a lot of fluids and eat a lot of food to help combat the virus.

The doc also told me that if I dont get better in 2 weeks, I should go to a hospital [2 weeks???]

Now, I believe this can be a more sinister plot on part of the health care industry - first they give you a flu shot - a bad one at that - this generates income for them - the people still fall ill and the pharmaceutical industry benefits.

While some may call this talk cuckoo, I blame it on the flu.
