Why would time spent on watching this movie be called 'the better part of the afternoon', unless you had a really bad morning? Anyway to answer your questions 1. Why would anyone act in this movie? A. 25 million bucks 2. Why would anyone make this movie? A. To get suckers to watch it, which... surprisingly answers your third question. Read More

Man, were you weiner-schlogging when you watched the movie. The review is nonsense. 'human thoughts and emotions have been captured by the camera without saying too many words'- How cheesy can you get? The main purpose of the camera is to capture the facial expressions of the actors, if I need... to hear too many words, I would rather listen to the commentary.Read More

Thanks for rating and for the comments. Let me make a correction, I am not blindly praising IIT students, in fact there are a lot of IIT alumni at my workplace and they are really not remarkably talented, just focused and hardworking. In fact if there is a single structured guide for IIT exams, ...like some of the technical books I've read, it can be made a lot more competitive. For my view on the corporate sham in India, read my review on my experience with Infosys. The US public school system is underfunded, but the private schools are some of the best in the world. Citing from experience classmates of my cousin's have all gone to the top five Univs with full scholarship, something which is rare for undergrad studies. These people were student-athletes with participation in an athletic program mandatory in their curriculum. Regarding the geographic or cultural knowledge, let me see, how many of our own adults think that the US is Hollywood!! Research in IISc is at grad school level at best. I think again that it is the government bureaucracy that is interfering too much. That's why the IIM's don't want to have anything to do with the HRD ministryRead More

This question has been oft asked by seniors in college atleast by those who are undecided until the last moment. Before I elaborate on my stance, my piece of advice to people who are deliberating on the same question that I did six years ago, is if you get into IIM, don't even sweat thinking abo...Read more

Paromita, you got to read the book to find the kind of trash the Indian media reports as 'news' Nandu, I agree that woman is just too opportunistic for my liking. But the HR people, that's too much, they are just butt-kissers. Sonali, Maybe too much money makes them think they can tell others ho...w to live. She should stop writing.Read More

A lot of fundamentalist Christians who believe that they have understood the religion, still hold the Jews responsible for Christ's killing. Remember Caiphas told that the blood of Christ will be on him, his people and the future generations of the jews. So whether they are dead or not is inconseque...ntial. His offspring is still supposed to have the blood of Christ on their hands. Anyway the Passion Plays were designed to incite the masses.Read More

A few days ago I was given a copy of a DVD titled ''The Passion of the Jew''. It was a collection of three episodes of my favorite cartoon series ''South Park'' featuring potty mouthed kids from a fictional place in Colorado called South Park. The title of the three episodes were ''The Passion o...Read more

That's because I haven't worked with any of the other companies in India and this is the only company I can comment on. From the feedback I get from my friends all of them seem to be in the same boat. It's more of a combination of disgust towards the management people, their business practices and ...hiring practices steeped in bureaucracy and the quality of people working there and the undue praise the Indian media showers on them almost like they buy the journalists. Dude, you telling me that working employees 14 hrs a day and not paying overtime is not a sweat shop. It is for your information not voluntary work. Akshay, I thought it was high time these jokers in the guise of 'business leaders' got exposed. The reason I got angry because Ms. Murthy adopts a superior attitude in all of her writings when she doesn't realize what's going on in her own backyard. The last I heard was that they were recruiting people who haven't even completed their degrees. COme on, this ain't India's best company, its a friggin govt. organisation.Read More

with all of these companies is that the apples and oranges happily seem to originate from the HR tree, if you know what I mean. HR are like PR people, most of the male employees respond better to a beautiful female and hence the discriminatory selection of HR personnel. But man, they are dumb as a b...rick and as beautiful they are physically, they are just as ugly inside. Those parties are a sham and in fact my friend's wife strongly dissuaded my cousin from joining Infosys, because of how dirty it has become due to internal squabbles. Ever seen the attrition rate there its at 12%. Everybody who can get out is getting the hell out like a bat out of hell. In fact I'm reminded of my friend's ex-girlfriend from college who's a HR in think Aditi Technologies, Bangalore. We used to call her 'slutty seetha' and I believe she's living up to her reputation.Read More

Sir, Having worked in that dastardly company called Infosys for a year (bond was for a yr, whew), I can tell you first-hand what crap goes on there and how the dumb-ass HR people treat you like a numbered convict in a cell. I was shocked at the quality of people HR hired, probably because they were... relatives, friends etc. Believe me it is not without basis, because I had to get work done from those jerks.Read More

''Wise and otherwise'' authored by Sudha Murthy has to be classified as the lamest tribute to the nouvea-riche mentality of the great Indian middle class. She's better known as the wife of Narayana Murthy, the CEO of that code sweat-shop called Infosys. It actually surprised me that she would ha...Read more
