40,000 kms Update after 2 years of ownership Hi all...I could not update 35,000 kms also. I had few problems: 1. There was a noise in suspension 2. Engine noise became little high 3. Pick up got lesser All these were fixed at 35 k kms. Timing belt was replaced. Wear and Tear components (like brea...k pads) were charged and rest of them were claimed under warranty. The bill was just above Rs 5000. Then, during 40,000 kms service, i noticed same kind of sound in the suspension. Rest all fine. Now for my surprise, the service manager said, TATA has changed the service schedule (along with new vista) as to have oil service once in every 10,000 kms (instead of 20,000 kms). Note this...either way I am frustrated. One is that I've not done servicing every 10k kms. Or here after, TATA is making me to pay more. Anyways ball joints, and few other components were replaced. The bill was Rs 11,400 (oooh!)... Totally I've spent around Rs 25,000 (bit high) all together for maintenance till now. Still I feel good at using Manza for space, mileage (18+), back seat comfort!...Manza Rocks...!Read More

After 30,000 KMS: Got the service done: Bill Rs 833. There was a small problem with balancing rod and its fixed up. With the new tyre, the ride is enjoyable. Had problem with pickup. The service people said it could be with air filter. They cleaned it properly and its better now. Went for a 1500kms... trip in just 4 days (Coimbatore, Trichy, back to Coimbatore, Mysore, Wayanad, Calicut, Palakkad, Coimbatore). Average mileage maintained as 19.2 kmpl. Tank filled in Sathy (TN-KA border) and till I reached TN, I never filled again. Great experience! Happy being a diesel car owner (thanks to petrol price hike!)Read More

Latest update after 20,000 kms (as on Dec 2010) Just one more month to complete one year for my mighty Manza. As I clocked 20,000 kms, I was bit curious to go for servicing as I wanted to change the engine oil, filter etc for the first time since I took this machine. I had few complaints as b...elow 1. Mileage dropped by 1 km 2. little rattling noise near music system 3. water entered into left fog lamp due to heavy monsoon driving last month The vehicle was ready in the evening. The bill was little hefty Rs 7300/-. This is due to the synthetic oil (it costs 1200 per litre). So divide this by 20,000 will give the maintenance cost per km. Except rattle noise everything else was fixed. The mileage is again normal and now showing 20.4 kmpl (actuals will be around 19.4 kmpl). I can feel the easy pulling now after the change of oil. The service folks told that the rattle noise can’t be fixed as there is no locking mechanism in that panel. May be the fit and finish of TATA. Some compromising points! Otherwise, still I love my Manza! Planning for couple of long trips in this christmas vacation! Happy new year to all! Read More

After 15000 kms Again surprise when I opted for change of oil and fuel filter. The service engineer suggester very strongly that oil viscosity is good and hence the same may done after 20000 kms. So I still didn't change the oil. Only front wheel alignment, wiper blade change were done! The bill... is RS 287/- Also another surprise is that the guy told me that the oil is synthetic and the charge will be heavy (Rs 1200/litlre). So expecting a huge bill for 20k kms service. Wheels are rotated. I fitted HR alloy outside. Now the look is awesome. Few issues: 1. The wheel arch is little bulged after a 2 wheeler hit on the left side. It rubs with the wheel while turning extreme left. Have to fix by fixing an extra screw 2. The rear spoiler came out. The same is fitted back. 3. There is a very small rattling noise coming up! I am just hearing keenly to locate and fix the same. Thats coming on a worst stretch of a road on the way to my office. I am sure it can be fixed. Soon will update on the same! STILL MY VERDICT IS STRONG WITH MANZA! I LOVE MANZA!!!Read More

@ Raghu: I am really sorry for your bad experience with TATA service. Its strange that even after customer care complaints, the service folks didn't attend well. I too had few problems (like seat belt alarm, combi switch), but when I called the TATA motors head office (the toll free number) and r...aised a complaint against the service guys. Within 10 mins, the service people called me and said it will be attended at my door step. They came with their service vehicle and fixed it. I'ven't seen such sensitive customer care in even Chevrolet (i own a spark too). Why don't you raise some complaints or change your service center. Go to some other authorised service dealer than with Concorde. @gegonbones Pls do not compare Manza with Swift. You have to compare with Linea, Fiesta, etc...Read More

After 10000 kms service: I was pleasantly surprised when the service manager told that the oil change is not required at 10,000 kms. As the synthetic oil is used, it (oil+oil filter) needs to be changed only after 20,000 kms. Still couldn’t believe where other similar segment cars do change the oi...ls at every 10,000 kms. WOW! I had a wobbling in my steering wheel above 90kmph. As I guessed the problem was with the wheel alignment. It was done. I did the balancing also. At the end of the day I paid Rs 348 as the bill. Another WOW factor. Still the replacement for my headlight switch has not arrived (even after 3 months :-( .... Its one of the major problem...I still dont understand why TATA is delaying its spares. Really worried as the escalation is done till TATA motors customer care. Otherwise, I am still proud owner of Manza, the Great! (especially the mileage 18.5KMPL and above consistently makes me proud) Read More

After 8500 kms -> The experience so far is no way less than the first day's experience. Still the thrill and pleasure is there. I enjoy each and every miles of traveling. -> I drove all miles by self. All terrains are covered. Two trips to Mysore, one via Ooty. Several trips to Salem and Yer...caud. -> The average fuel efficiency is no way less than 18.5 kmpl (95% ac on). -> Now I know much better how to get good fuel efficiency. Run the engine below 2000 RPM to get better mileage, but lesser power (still can reach 90kmph in 5th gear). Go to the top gear as early as possible. -> The comfort for all the passengers are guaranteed as all my family members enjoyed traveling -> Ground clearance is superior as few times I drove off the road (while a diversion was taken in ooty) -> Two minor problems which still could not be solved by the dealers are 1. The high beam switch has some problem where it gets on automatically while running. I then flick it once again to bring it down 2. The seat belt alarm is off though the dash light abt seat belt is blinking. -> Otherwise, I am a very proud owner of TATA MANZA...A great experience one should really have!Read More

LATEST UPDATE after 3000 kms My Manza has done 3000 kms now. I drive it in two different styles. One is like speed machine by keeping the RPM above 2000 to beat anything on the road. This way I get 16-17kmpl fuel efficiency. Another one is like handling the pet by keeping the RPM always less than... 2000. I can go a maximum of 90kmph. This way I get a mileage of 19-20 kmpl. Great to get this average! Thanks TATA Read More

Yep. I got floor mats (not of good quality) and mud flops. Nothing other than these as this version comes with Remote Key and central lock. I may have to stick the sun control film.

Thanks Vinoth... I paid Rs 6.89 Lakhs on road at Coimbatore. Yeah...as you said I feel like sitting in a tall car. When I maximize my seat height I could see everything including the front bonnet. I am 174 cm tall...but still I feel the room above my head is spacious.
