Thousands of people in India and abroad fell prey to various online scam daily. Warning them not to get involved in such scams is a noble thing, and I agree with m_us on this 100%. Here in North America, Rick Hansen of MSNBC have tracked down dozens of online scam artists in Nigeria and Britain with... undercover police and hidden cameras. These people spend day and night in internet cafes in the slums and lure innocent victims. Remember, nothing is free, and greed will get you into big trouble.Read More

Online shopping is very popular here in Canada and the Unites States, the most popular sights being eBay and Amazon.I think it is very safe when paying via paypal, if the seller refuses refund for a damaged or misrepresented item, paypal will refund you for the loss, that is the practice here.

Once a beautiful city, now destroyed by bad politics and corrupted police force. The corruption creates lawlessness which in turn ruin a country no matter how 'beautiful' it once was. I have no desire to visit Bangalore again!

To Amisax, Russia, Germany, France and China were not ruled by the British and English teaching schools are very rare in those places. In India practically everyone who is in the public service speak English. A cosmopolitan city like Bangalore must have English speaking police men - at least on the... sub inspector level - if the authorities have the foresight. If you love Bangalore and proud of the city, do something to fight the police corruption instead of being offensive and thus completely blind to the problem. Let's fight and nail these dimwits!Read More

I have visited Bangalore a dozen times, I have also been to Delhi, Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, Naini Tal, Dehra Dun, Kerala and other parts of India, as well as many countries around the world. Bangalore is an overcrowded and over rated city with very poor safety net. I have never seen such ignorant a...nd corrupted police officials anywhere. How do you feel when your passport, laptop, wallet stuffed with money, digital camera and mobile phone are stolen by thugs and police wants money left and right when registering a complaint? The beauty and the fame of Bangalore has been destroyed by those pigs in police uniforms.Read More

To Maaz_Nawaz: I haven't written this for good rating, but to present the facts based on recent experience in your city. If you realize there is a major problem with the Bangalore Police, why not stand up and fight instead of letting them live like leaches? Let people of Kerala and Tamilnadu worry a...bout their problems which doesn't justify that Bangalore police does not be corrected?Read More

Planning to go to Bangalore? This overcrowded city's major problem is the police force. If you are a victim of a crime, and has to go to a police station, prepare to waste several days for nothing. The constable demands money(minimum Rs100) so that he can phone you when your report is signed. Wh...Read more

It is not a novel, but an incident really happened. All the particulars are in public domain. Everyone knows the leopard was killed in 1926, and there are several memorial monuments erected in the area. Jerry

A beautiful chain of islands indeed, still unspoiled and under exploited. An ideal place to spend a quiet holiday, away from the crowded cities. I have enjoyed my recent visit to Agatti and I came back with a thousand photographs. Jerry A. Jaleel

A good review. I just returned from Lakshadweep after a week spent there and enjoyed it very much. We also took a village tour and visited the coir factory, the local hospital and the tuna pickling fascilities. The food was great, and I think the official language here is Malayalam. The beaches... are clean and unspoiled. Thanks to the strict government regulations which controls the arrival of tourists in this island in small groupes. Jerry A. JaleelRead More

I just returned from Dubai and found your article very interesting. It is indeed a great city. A drive at night from Dubai to Abu Dhabi reminded me of New York with its tall buildings and glittering lights. Well Done! Jerry

There is no need to worry when Walmart makes its appearance in India. They are a well organized, serious retail chain and have been successfully operating in several countries including China. Walmart has already opened a purchasing office in bangalore with 85 staff. They are investing 1.5 billio...n US dollars in India. Various products from India are already gracing in numerous north American Walmart stores. A huge investment of this nature will surely improve India's economy as well as its infrastructure dramatically in the years to come. I look forward to shop in a walmart store during my next trip to India. JJRead More

Being a Canadian, I am familiar with Walmart. There are 7 of them in the city of Edmonton where I live and posibly nearly 100 of them in Canada. Walmart is the biggest retail chain in Canada. Until their arrival, Zeller's, Woolco and K Mart stores more or less monopolised the average retail sector h...ere in Canada, not discounting Sears, Eatons or Hudson Bay stores. Walmart started their operations here by purchasing all woolco departmental stores, and very soon the entire K.Mart and the prestigious Eaton stores closed their doors for good. With it's super low pricing and excellent refund/return policies as well as their ability to display and merchandise goods caught the eye of every one in this country. Today, when you walk in to a Zeller's store, you will see one or two cashiers and small line ups. In Walmart, you will see dozens of cashier's busily ringing in their sales to a very large number of satisfied customers. The store has nearly everything, from stationary to pharmaceuticals, from Automobile supplies, hardware, furniture, beddings, confectionary, books, magazines, men's and women's fashion to latest movies in dvds, cameras and photo processing centres, and much much more in great quantity. Almost all Walmart stores provide ample parking for over 1000 vehicles, here they open 7 days a week. I don't see the arrival of Walmart as a threat to corner stores. They are all still flurishing. When you can buy a dvd for $20 at Walmart, why bother to blow $30 for the same movie elsewhere? When Walmart cheerfully provide you with a refund for an unwanted item, why wasting time in another store answering a dozen silly questions and providing a blood sample? The arrival of Walmart in this country taught other retailers a lesson: Not to get too greedy, if you do, the customers will go to Walmart. For an average Canadian, Walmart is a haven for shopping needs. It is the BEST organised retail chain in north America. continued..>>>Read More

This articles brings back memories from childhood when I lived in Kerala nearly 40 years ago. I have enjoyed many of his films and I met him at least three times. I recall he went to a college in Changanasseri, and his real name was Abdul Khader. He also starred in several Tamil films. The last fil...m I saw of Nazeer was a haunting story based on a short story written by Vaikom Mohammed Bashir. Whether he was a fine actor or not, he brought joy to millions for nearly four decades. Thank you for writing about him. JJRead More

Hello: It would have been useful for the future travelers like myself, if you could explain some basics: as to how to get there, air and sea tariffs, hotels and rates, local language and where to contact for further information etc. Thanks, JJ
