Mentors
The world is fiercely competitive where every one is trying to prove he's the best, back biting, acing the race, in spite of being average or below average. Team work is only an "ideal situation" that is rarely followed. After all, in the end of the day, while being apprised, you're pitted against yr own team-member!
So where does the mentor- protégé r'ship exist now. Teachers as mentors? Well! I cannot remember a single teacher who took even the slightest effort to put their minds to analyzing personalities in order to shape any kids future. All my teachers were walking- talking examples of the ones in Taare Zameen Par……. (except aamir course). Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing in life. Wonder if life would've been more enriching to my creative side if I'd taken different paths. The constant consoling aches – consolation that life turned out to be great anyway! Well may be it is, who knows. May be it would've been worse, who knows. But I do wish to have taken an informed decision when I was taking them!
Most people sit on the fence. We are not sure of which way to go. We chose a path outta our own logic, gut feelings, or what people around us say. & sadly most of the times we shoot down our own inquisitiveness due to lack of direction, proper guidance. Every person is responsible for his or her own actions, & must by all means, take full responsibility of their deeds- very true. But wouldn’t life be better, if we were given push?
The girls team in chak de India was doomed to fail, but it was beautifully guided to victory ! Although its just a movie, is it that difficult to replicate the same in reality? May be not win the world cup, but small victories? What about having such success stories at schools & work places?
Don't we all need more Ram Shankar Nikumbhs (TZP). more Kabir Khans (Chak De!) in this world? Wont the world make more sense that way !!!
