I had placed two orders earlier, one was for a combo of several items, another was for a pair of shoes. I got both more or less in time and the products appear to be satisfactory. I placed another order on July 1st and when I heard nothing from them till August 1, I wrote to them. By coincidence...Read more

Another condition was that there should be a spend in each of these months. I spent ...Read more

If the committee that decides these things thought that Sania Mirza deserves the PadmaShri, then Leander Paes deserves the PadmaVibhushan (and not just the PadmaShri) for the sheer passion with which he plays for the country. How come nobody thought to appropriately honour the man who manages to dra...w on unknown reserves in Davis Cup and inspiration from a handful of supporters waving the tricolour?Read More

Has it really been named the Squatter? Original. Perhaps because it makes the mosquito squat when you hit it? Perhaps it should be called splatter, since it splatters the mossie all over the place.

If you need to visit Frankfurt and would like to live away from the hustle and bustle of the city, or away from the sometimes-not-so-respectable-looking hotels near Frankfurt Central Station, here's a good hotel run by a very friendly family. Bremen is not the busiest airport in Germany, so there isn't much to write about, really. Since it is not quite so hectic, the Lufthansa staff here seem to have more time to be friendly. It's a very neat and tidy airport and has all the usual shopping and eating facilities. My information is jus...Read more

It is many years since I read Enid Blyton in my childhood, but the wonderful memories of her books will be with me always. Pretty convenient, it's got me a one-way Bombay-London ticket so far. You pay a somewhat hefty annual charge, Rs. 3500, ...Read more

Sorry, folks, my opinion of Cadbury's (the one made in India, at least) is very, very negative. Perhaps it is because I was posted in Switzerland for a brief period, and came to know what chocolate is really all about. Cologne, or Köln (German name) is not to the south, but to the north of Frankfurt. Munich is to the south. A 'kino' is simply a cinema theatre. It does not necessarily mean a blue film arcade, although the ones in FRA airport are just that.
