Personally i didnt like the movie and it was ok in parts, it FLOPPED, also it was way too long 4 hrs and 10 mins with 2 intervals. That was a good read, i liked the character sketching done. Shatter more keys.... Pras

Well what to say... This one is a wonderful review of one of the wonderful movies ever made in Hindi cinema.... Though the film flopped.....it made a come back after two years of its showing...esp when it was a hit in Russia... I guess Raj Kapoor was way ahead of his times to make such an emotional movie!!! Your review seems to be more from the heart than from the mind!!! Keep writing such revus dude... Cheers, Amaresh

Terrific Review, I was just telling Pras on the chat that Indeed its a long very long movie with 2 breaks, I am still having its video cassette somewhere in my home earlier we were deprived of the same since it contains some hot scenes. Its a fantastic movie, it makes my eyes go wet whenever I see Raj in that Jokers role. I wish he should have got atleast one of them in the movie, I am yet to understand the reason of this movies bombing on the Box office. Its a wonderful movie to watch any given day, it has all the things a good movie should have. Your review is no less than the movie itself, I am sure it wud help the people who have not seen this film. Thanks for writing such a nice review. Keep writing Rohit

Your review is as touching as the film. Raj Kapoor was indeed the best as a Joker. The scene where the big red heart goes up and shatters to pieces on landing is also a very touching one. I saw the movie long long back when it was first released yet I still remember the scenes, Raj Kapoors expressions, Padminis tub scene. Simis river scene, Raj Kapoor breaking his heart so many times and much more. A very good movie, deserved to be a hit. Veena

Very nice review of a very nice movie made by show master of 50 & 60s; Raj Kapoor. According to him this was his best film; but flopped at box-office. We could buy tickets in current booking on first day at Novelty!!

Hi whitedevil your review took me down the memory lane of school days. I remember all the songs on Mera Naam Joker did so well on Binaca Geet Mala. Perhaps movie was so long (2 intervals) that it couldnt sustain the interest and add to that release of Johny Mera Naam at the same time. I wonder if common mera naam was just coicidence. You did watch in great detail and caught every nuance of it. Regards

A superbly written review The music and theme music is brilliant and the philosophy behind the film incomparable. The movie tends to drag and their are strong trends of monotony with the joker symbol over repeated. However the story of the clown who makes the world laugh while secretlybrushing that tear from his eyes is one of the most heart-evoking epic sof all time.
