Well I hope they give me a refund too! Seems like a really unethical business. I wish I'd read these reviews earlier -- would never have tried to shop here. There are so many other decent sites out there, figured this one was too.

I've had similar experiences with their Gurgaon branch. Useless. Really, really bad customer service and damaged goods.

This place was coronary central, but i didn't mind it too much. Right about the pocket parathas though, they aren't up to scratch. Other items were great though, like that crumbled up paratha, forget what it's called.

Big knockers, check. Evidence of eating disorders, check. Skanky make-up, check. And yes, they don't even know the full form of 'IQ'. OK, so the 'beauties' are just the kind of bimbos that one would hope for in the Indian edition of the Beauty and the Geek. But let's check out the 'geeks'. Weird ...Read more

Not repenting in the least Amit. Felt sorry for what I thought were irate relatives at first. Bye bye. Have fun.

Such boring earnestness. You’re probably not familiar with the canon of nasty reviewers such as AA Gill (I am a friendly little bunny in ribboned shoes in comparison), but they do exist and are doing very well despite virtuous readers offering to lynch them and scalp them. Out of the kindness of the...ir hearts, of course. This kind of writing seems more mean-spirited than it really is - but it’s fun for others who know not to take it too seriously. To insult and be insulted imaginatively and playfully is fun (most people here sadly were painfully sincere drips). Others' retorts I loved. I've already expressed my appreciation for the way certain people like sid-khullar told me off in a really fun way. Anyway, no one asked you to read this, so. Hope this is the end of the Bernardo’s saga.Read More

Amit, the only insight I got was that you can barely string a coherent sentence together. But coming down to the facts, I went there, didn't like it. Those who love the place, great. The same thing can elicit different reactions, which is why haggis isn't a delicacy everywhere. Now get over it alrea...dy.Read More

Parul, you do know what slander is, right? What it isn't is speculative opinion. A restaurant is a place of business and paying customers have a right to express their views, positive or negative. You have every right to disagree, but this constant haranguing is a bit tedious. As for the whine a...gainst the terribleness of all 'mean' writing, by all means go ahead and have book burning, magazine ripping, virus attacking go at anyone who doesn't think just as you do. Fascism, Pollyanna style. Also, I hope you realize you're flattering me me by suggesting that I have any power whatsoever to shape public opinion. I hereby declare that I'm an irrelevant idiot, and so are you. Finally, I'd like to ask WHY you haven't put up a favourable review of the place, since you claim to care so much. I know you're intoxicated by outrage, but as the avenging angel of mom-and-pop establishments, you need to show vermin like me how it should be done. Find a constructive outlet for your anger since you seem to be into that kind of thing.Read More

Thank you Meethubear... restaurants are often touch and go. Good some days, awful others. do I know you from somewhere?

True sidharth. They could use all this time and energy to write a great review of the restaurant instead of swarming here. They're just drawing attention to this bad review. Guys you can balance any 'damage' with your positive reviews. Now go away.

No, not slander. Nothing personal. Just an impression. Why is is that a glowing impression is good and a bad one something to get outraged about? Not everyone likes the same thing. Let it go already, please! I'm accepting that I'm extreme and silly and misguided. t's my view. Not speaking for everyo...ne. You don't see me going and demanding how others who've written positive reviews could dare to do so. Let it go already!Read More

Parul, he sounds like a great guy. I've done food reviews professionally a few times, but one can let loose a lot more on the Internet. One food review is pretty much the same as the other most of the time, so it's kind of fun to bring one's hideously deformed personality into the equation at times ...;). I wasn't trying to be malicious. But bad reviews happen. No biggie. Bernardo's is bound to get more glowing accounts in many other forumsRead More

Yes, yes people. I agree. Food IS a subjective matter. In this case, I was the 'subject' doing the sampling so I just gave my point of view. Aditi, you make a good point about the pricing and so on and perhaps I am extraordinarily greedy and stingy. I accept responsibility for that. And yes I know I... was dramatic, but that's just the way I write. You don't have to read my stuff. Now, it's hardly as if what I say will leave any lasting impression on anyone. Any product/establishment is bound to people who like it and those who don't. I'm sure all these people are lovely, but I just have a personal grouse with certain kinds of marketing. Sorry for offending you guys! I was thinking of taking down my review, but I do believe in free speech.Read More

Hahahaha, liked your review! Funny. True, I wasn't very balanced, perhaps, but I was just jotting down an impression.I do get carried away. It's just a little odd that few people question high praise, but a bit of bitching gets quite a response. I know the place has lots of diehard fans, but I have ...a right to an opinion. Every booker-prize winning novel, for example, has detractors. That's just the way it is. Bernardo's won't suffer for this insignificant bit of fluff.Read More

Parulshirazi, I seem to have touched a bit of a raw nerve. Sorry if my review is nasty but I'm generally not a very nice person... nothing personal. For some reason, my experience at bernardo's annoyed me (because I'm horribly cynical) but my companion actually does want to go back, and often. Once ...again, sorry if I hurt any sentiments.Read More

Most people are sentimental idiots. And smart restaurateurs know that. Speak the magic words, “this recipe has been handed down through the generations”, and gullible patrons will empty their plates and wallets like a bladder full of beer. Even if the recipe is for snout of pig in red chilli slu...Read more
