I understand your reactions. However, just to correct you; The original 'Texas chain saw massacre' shot in the early eighties was hailed as a masterpiece (& I also relished the same); however; the Friday the 13th series (read Jason etal) were unabashedly stupid ventures and were in all probablity cr...eated for it's 'fun' (read soft pornography) elements; since there have been a string of successful franchisees. I have seen the part I of this movie and I found it quite nicely done (Wes craven was involved in it's production)Read More

If one closely scans through their products; one can easily make out that most of the stuff are third rate products (though cheap). Been there once to their Gurgaon center and have learnt my lesson.

I am not too sure if I have gained anything (intellectually) after going through your article. Most of the details that you were harping on are pretty well known even to a moderate cell phone user. There are too many incorrect conclusions; viz. you claim that Symbian OS is the most 'popular' OS for ...mobile phone users; however; it's a well known 'fact' that Win mobile is the most sought after OS in the mobile enironment (easy to use; great interface, data portability, memory management & better data management); again; you claim that Samsung & LG are sought after by a 'niche' segment; so which is this supposedly 'niche' segment. Frequent users can vouch that only two categories of people go for Samsung or LG instruments; Ignorant or people who cannot afford a fancy Nokia, Moto or a PDA heado. Incorrect information like E50 supporting a high 'speed' internet connection & business usage capability is bound to misled hordes of people in buying a pathetic mobile phone. I am yet to find a reasonably good mobile phone based camera (I have used SE W700i and fail to understand as to what impressed you in terms of it's in-built camera). To be clearer; all handsets claiming 2 MP or more resolution practically come up with a similar quality of picture. My two cents; you should have limited your gungho histrionics with a particular brand. You claim to have used an assortment of handsets but the review depicts a mind of a pretty naive user. Sorry Pal- A waste of time for me (& readers; please steer clear of crappy phones like E50; if you want a pda handset go for a Blackberry or an HTC) - Ranju AnthonyRead More

I guess you had more options; if you're talking of a budget<5 Lacs. Maruti's own Swift LXi & Hyundai's Getz. Though, it's true that Santro is a tad tight in terms of space (at the driver's level) & even I had this problem of space with this car. I guess people should point out this too 'obvious' ...anomaly to this company. Wagon R, on any day, is far better than a SantroRead More

Tata's fraud was the centre point of discussion for many months 'last year'. I got that link while blogging on 'Dice career', a US based online recruiter. You may google for Dice & go through numerous blog forums to get the real scenario on IT; both in US & elsewhere. In fact IT as a whole is being ...projected (in US) as a commodity which would require fewer employees to run the show in future. I would request you to google the names pointed in the article for more information on the TCS fraud & the subsequent court caseRead More

You sure seemed to have enjoyed the flick. Even I have a penchant for these classics and occasionally resort to movies from the Ramsay factory. They are all great entertainers, cheap gore, rain songs, unintentional humor & what not. Advice: Gobble down with a huge mug of bear & you'll relish them mo...re :)Read More

The 7500 chars limitation forced me to chop off certain portions of the text. Though I had tried to maintain a sort of continuity but through your responses, it's but obvious that it hasn't worked. Anyways, my take was on two facets of the industry; one; export of IT consultancy from US to India and... second; export of cheap labor from India to US. Arguably, two different scenarios but grossly connected. We all know that firms like IBM, Accenture, Oracle & Microsoft have set up shops in the country; however, the trickle effect has costed thousands of jobs in US in one go. However, to rub salt (on their wounds) these very firms are retorting to unethical mechanisms to abuse H1B visa by sending their Indian employees to US to practically shut out any possibility of local recruitment even for business analysis/intelligence needs. The locals have come out strongly against the H1B regime and many a radical changes are in the offing viz. a possibly drastic increase of visa fee. As per their (surely rational) arguments the cost factor excuse does not stands, as per se; considering sky rocketing wages in India itself. My argument only emphasizes that it's purely possible for these organisations to again shift their operations to far more cheaper locations in Eastern Europe or even China for that matter. My contention is that IT had a pretty long (& successful) innings in India but as per the prevalent scenario, cannot be gambled for another innings.Read More

Bharati, Thanx for your comment (on my comment). Now its your turn for correction(s). I don't take reviews seriously. The movie's review is surely your perspective and the comment on your review mine. 1) Coming back to my english language capabilities; guess you need to teach me some of YOUR e...nglish. So kindly provide more insights into what a Keralite character looks/behaves like. Is he/she suppose to eat idli and sambar in the morning; or may be the pastor was supposed to wear a lungi throughout the movie (which he did in many of the sequences). 2) Many thanks again for pointing out the spelling mistake. But be noted that had I taken your review seriously another dozen would have been pointed out to you as well. So what are your standards (since you already seem to know mine) 3) No point in letting you know how (should) a pastor behave. Sure, why only thru MS; one has the right to express his/her views thru any medium but again, that very same medium provides the same rights for anybody to respond to anybody's viewpoint. So lady! Relax! comments could be critical occasionally. Learn to live with them. If you don't want anybody to take your reviews seriosuly then maybe you should post them on some informal message board. Your outbursts were surprising but again welcome. On the contrary you should have been elated that I responded with some of my viewpoints. Hopefully, you could make out what I want to convey with my limited language skills. regards. Ranju Read More

Read your review coz of a wonderful title 'Hunger for awards'. But alas there wasn't any humor and the review was clearly out of point. Its quite clear with your revu that you haven't been to the interiors of the country as yet. Well my dear friend, I am also an Indian (and a proud one at that) but ...fact is that the social development index of the country is in pits. Why only the interiors, even the cities are just the same; imagine that only a 100 odd girls are left in a city like Delhi. I bet you cannot imagine whats gonna happen and you'll surely be relieved for being a male. Believe me pal, the real World (not just India) is as wretched as shown in this movie. What we saw was the director' perspective vis-a-vis India; the same can happen anywhere (even in US). Too bad you didn't like the effort. RanjuRead More

Saw this movie and liked it tremendously. Your point on the female character's dumb submissiveness is correct is surely correct and even I found it absurd. In one of the scenes it's shown that she still respects her father; who literally sold her to the thakur family. At no point of time was any ang...st from her perspective shown; which is question worthy. But saying that, I do feel that the males would surely behave the way they did (in such a scenario). And believe me, it has nothing to do with locales (villages or cities). Again, all males aren't alike, which he successfully showed thru Sushant Singh. One feels disgusted after watching this movie and this I presume was the director's intention. I feel that in a country like India only severe shocks (like these) can change the mindset of the masses. Sure it's gruesome and full of gore but who would have cared had he made it with Preity Zinta and the Khans in Switzerland. Great to hear the your perspective. Great Revu. Keep busting. regards. Ms. Bharati, To answer your queries: 1) How do Keralites look like otherwise or rather how do you visualise their physical appearance. Case you don't know (and I am sure u don't) John Abraham happens to be a Keralite 2) I don't recall any other recent movie which shows sex so asthetically. ...Do u 3) Its a movie yaar! So what if the pastor looks like a model. Don't think you would have watched had he looked like Rajpal Yaadav A suggestion finally NEVER MAKE A MOVIE. Cause if this is the way you visualise a movie! spare the audiences regards RanjuRead More
