Reviewed Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)

Oct 29, 2020 11:03 AM 2221 Views (posted via Mobile)

It's a nightmare dealing with any government department but EPFO takes the top slot in it's unfriendly and obstructive approach. My wife retired and applied online for a final withdrawal since June 2020. 7 times the claim has got rejected. First they said pdf not downloadable, then cheque not...Read more

Nice review. I have a thinkpad 51 and want to change it now. However, I do not require so many technical features. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Switzerland can be combined--which we did. Italy can also be combined. Tour operators do combine London too----all are reachable by EuroRail. It depends on how much time you have. Id suggest two countries for a trip upt 10 days and not too much travel.

I think it is also called Zinc city. I loved dining at the lake palace hotel at night.

A very contoversial review. Though I agree that Indian authors overplay the negativities of the country to win prizes( I wrote about this in my review on Inheritance of Loss on this site), however recommending not reading the book is going too far. No book-lover will skip reading the book, especiall...y with so much controversy around it.9look at Rushdie after the fatwa against him).Read More

I believe the jury liked the corrupt face of a 'suddenly propserous' India presented by an Indian. The book strikes at a sore spot, reminding readers that all is still not well in India. Sea of Poppies may have been a better choice. Nice review here ofcourse.

I forgot to comment on your friends' plight regarding job scenario. This is now spreading to India too. Pink slips are being handed over to youngsters. People with appointment letters in hand are being asked to wait till called. Salaries have been reduced. Bonuses and performance-linked pay have bee...n held back. Tourist industry has taken a 60% hit already as Indians have deferred travel plans. All this is expected to last for 2 years or so. Though we are in a recession-proof healthcare sector, one does not like to make money off people's miseries. In the end, bleak days ahead but all this too shall pass away as it always does.Read More

Very well researched and simple tips offered--a noble task, well done. I agree except for one tip-----redemption of mutual funds held. If cash is not needed, better to remain invested than to book a loss. In 2001 crash, NAV of Templeton Internet Opportunities fund came down to Rs 2.10 per unit ...but 3 years later it went upto Rs 26. Bear cycles are part of markets. This time the fall has been steep and earlier than anticipated. One advantage hs been in financial advisors coming back to mother earth, both in money earned and their bloated self-esteem of the bull days. I wrote on this site---'Dear Son, take care of your tomorrow', a couple of years back. If those investing principles have beeen followed, that person has not lost in current times.Read More

This is a rant, not a review. You say you do not understand the range of birla(probably all financial instruments available) in your comment on my review, yet instead of learning from it, you have blindly rated it not useful. I am not a birla agent. However, with a brain, blind to all suggestions as... you have, you are unlikely to ever make money from investments. The fault is yours and not citibank or birla. Not that it is your business, but for your info, in this market fall, the only investment that has not eroded has been insurance. Read More

Actually, both Dravid and Tendulkar and been classier and less controversial than Ganguly. I don't follow cricket these days, but in earlier days, Ganguly was always chasing controversy---had some extra-marital affair too. The other two, esp Tendulkar, have been spotless as far as I know. Correct me... if I am wrong.Read More

I am sorry for your experience but also blame the doctor--once you approached him, he should have sorted out the issue by seeing you and snubbing his assistant. In future, stick to independent consultants unless you anticipate hospitalisation.

A very intelligent analysis. You may add another reason for preferring this to PPF. In PPF, there is a limit of 70000 rs per annum. So those who want to save more for a 7%tax free return can invest here even though 80C advantage may not be there. For those looking to balance their equity investments... with debt options, this bond is a great option as no ULIP gives assured return--even the older ones gave 3 to 4.5%assured returns.Read More

The moment Saroj Khan walked in as a judge I knew the programme was doomed. She is opnionted and must have rubbed the boys wrongly---not shown on t.v. Otherwise the boys don't have the guts to spoil their careers by walking out.
