Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani

Posted on Nov 06, 2009 under General

Dear Meena,

Thanks for being my love for one & half years, when you receive this letter I believe you might have selected a new boy friend & started enjoying your dating.

Every lover needs to struggle a bit to get a boy friend or a girl friend.

In order to recover your missing, I got another girl friend from next street & as you know this is my fifth love & from all my past experiences, I have learned a lot.

When the love blossoms everyone starts writing love letters, you know very well. I have written many love letters to you & writing a love letter in a poetic way is not so easy nowadays. And moreover it is a time consuming work. In order to avoid all this I need all my love letters back so that I can put corrector and send to Raveena (my new girl friend). Please send them back to me as I don't have any poetic references or photocopies of those letters.

Another thing that I gave you was a cute photograph of mine, can you send it to me please? You know better that this is the only photo where I look very cute & handsome. Actually this photo was taken when I was in my very first love.

And also during my 1-1/2 years of love days I have spent lot of money for impressing you. I am attaching a list of expenses, which I request you to clear it at the earliest.

The grand total of the expenses is Rs. 30,708 (in words - Rupees Thirty Thousand Seven Hundred & Eight only).

Please try to clear the above amount at the earliest so that I can spend it on Raveena. And moreover if you have any of my gift lying with you, I am ready to take these packs at half prices. Please calculate the value of packs left over & deduct it from the above outstanding amount.

I am enclosing herewith your love letters (weight around 3.8 kg) so that you no need to write again to your boy friend & your photo so that you can give it to your new boy friend.

Also please advise your expenses, which incurred during our dates. I don't think you had any expenditures during our dates as I have seen many times that you always forget your purse when it comes to pay.

Anyways I hope you will clear the above outstanding at the earliest & wishing you a very wonderful 6th love affair with Ramesh.

Your ex-lover

Guru Nanak Devji

Posted on Nov 02, 2009 under General

When I visited Hyderabad last time, I came across a book named Guru Nanak, which I immediately bought to know more about the holy soul. Today on the auspicious day of his 540th jayanti, I would like to share something about him that I have read.

Guru Nanak was born during a period when India was reeling under the Muslim rulers attacks & oppressive behaviour of the plunderers. Indian society was victimised by the ills of caste system and untouchability.

He raised a powerful voice against the social injustice prevalent at that time. He was out and out advocate of the removal of the social & economical disparities.

He was born in a so called high caste, but he associated himself completely with the oppressed, depressed & condemned people. He rejected the baseless traditions & dogmatic beliefs of the society of all the castes.

He had a formal education in fragments, as every now & then he would he would spend his time of Hermits & Fakirs. He was well versed in Hindi, Sanskrit & Arabic and had complete knowledge of the sacred texts of Hindus as well as Muslims.

His teachings are simple & lucid, he never decried family life, he advocated the people to perform good deeds, which was in itself a best form of worship to God. He undertook four major journeys in his life to spread his teachings. He traveled far & wide, met a number of people & tried to give spiritual help to whoever he could.

He was a great seer who condemned the hypocrisy of religions & showed the real path to mankind to reach God.

Once Upon A Time In Madras

Posted on Oct 30, 2009 under General

Madras? Yes, you read it right, Madras. The city was then called Madras, which was later renamed as Chennai.

I & two of my friends went to Madras to write our exams & a day after the exam we decided to watch a film. After discussion we decided to watch Thalapati just because it had Rajnikant. None of us knew Tamil but stuck to decision of watching Thalapati.

It was first day first show & you can imagine the crowd for Rajnikant's film. Somehow we managed to buy the tickets in black & entered the theater.

The crowd went berserk when Rajnikant made an entry, whistles, screams & what not. They did everything to show their love for the man on the screen.

We three were watching only the video part as the audio part was beyond our understanding. Then there was a scene when Mamoothy says something to Rajnikant & with that all hell broke loose. Noise, screams, banging of chairs, etc could be heard & we three had no clue why it was happening. The film was stopped. We realised that the crowd was angry. But didn't know the reason.

I asked a person who was almost fuming the reason behind the scenario. He asked me, "do you know who is that person who shouted at Rajnikant". I said "No".

"He is Mamoothy, actor from Kerala. How can he talk to Rajni like that?", was his reply in form of a question. I didn't had guts to ask him any further question.

We three looked at each other & soon the crowd became quiet after someone came & spoke something in Tamil. The film started again & this time Rajnikant replied to what Mamoothy had said to him. The crowd once again went berserk. Claps, whistles, screams, everything the fans could do to express their happiness they did & also some words in Tamil were shouted. They forgot what happened few minutes ago & all floated with the present happenings on the screen.

We prayed while we watched the film that no such scene should be there, which can propel the crowd to loose control. Thankfully nothing happened till the end. We walked out of the theater with no understanding of the film but the episode that took place almost 18 years ago is still so fresh.

We promised that we will NEVER watch a Tamil film in Tamilnadu. Because the fans worship their favourite stars & can go to any length to promote & support their favourite stars.

May be that is the reason why they don't make multi starrer films in Southern part of India.

Though I have seen few Tamil films after that namely Khushi, Anjali, Mauna Raagam, Pokiri, Ghajini, etc but all on DVD. Safe bet I would say.

Broken Lawn Mower

Posted on Oct 11, 2009 under General

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, reading, the car, watching TV. Always something more important to me.

Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.

I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush. I said, 'When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway.'

The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

In Conversation With Corruption

Posted on Oct 02, 2009 under General

“Good Morning Gentleman” someone wished me, I turned around to find no one was there & was wondering if it was just an illusion or did someone really call me? I brushed off the thought & continued to walk when I heard him again, “Are you wondering who I am & why you can’t see me?”

Before I could say anything I heard him again, “Don’t worry I am not a ghost, I am that invisible part of today’s system, which does exist & willingly or reluctantly people have to use me”.

“Just who the hell are you & why are you bothering me?” I screamed, a bit scared now.

“I am Corruption with a capital C”, came the reply.

“Corruption” I said & continued, “why are you here, I don’t need you. I hate you & I don’t think I’ll ever promote you or will ever endorse your existence”.

“Ha ha ha ha” he laughed, “that’s a nice joke my friend. You just took my help & I didn’t mind that you didn’t say thanks to me. No body does. But you hurt me with your opinion about me”.

“Took your help?” I was surprised, “When?”

“Oh! You bought a new car” he said, “Congratulations”. And he continued, “Did you get the registration done?”

“Thanks but it’s none of your business”, I was shocked how he knew it. “Yes I did manage to get the registration done in less then 2 days”. Actually I was happy when I told my wife last night that the entire procedure took less then 2 days, which they said will take about 10 days initially.

“In 2 days” he continued, “not bad. How did you manage to do it?”

“Well I paid mo….” I was now speechless.

“Yes, carry on. I am listening. You paid WHAT”? Then he gave me the devilish laugh, “Ha ha ha, you said you hate me, you will never ever think of using me or will ever endorse my existence, if I am not mistaken.”

I was embarrassed but said, “Actually I am shifting to another place & had only 2 days in hand to get the formalities completed. They won’t move a thing unless you pay them something extra. Everybody does, what’s the big deal in it”? I tried to justify.

“Does that mean you agree that I assisted you in getting your work done?” He embarrassed me further.

“Well, you see I already told you the fact why I paid a bit extra & you know I can’t go against the system. It doesn’t work the way I want it to work” I think I justified & in return received another devilish laugh from him, this time even louder then the first laugh.

“So you are just another hypocrite who boast of fighting ME & then prefers to follow the same path that is followed by many. Or should I say almost everyone?” He continued to embarrass me, “I hope you will give me a convincing answer”.

I did not reply to him & started running toward my house. Just trying to escape from the embarrassment that I was facing. As I sat in front of my laptop his words keep echoing in my ears & now I am actually wondering whether I am a hypocrite or just a human being?

I am looking for the answer knowing well that the water always flows through easy ways.

Meeting With Sajith Nair

Posted on Sep 26, 2009 under General

During our meeting Harry informed me that Sajith would be in Mumbai on 25th & time permitting would like to meet me. I requested the number of Sajith from Harry but our online live telephone directory Bobby immediately gave me the number. He has a fantastic memory.

I called Sajith & fixed up our meeting at Dadar on 25th but due to our prior committments, we ended up meeting at Andheri, which was aplty suggested by Sajith. It saved a lot of time.

Sajith was at Intercontinental The Lalit, Andheri & I was not very far from there, so he suggested I meet him there & then we will move ahead with our program.

If you haven't met a person before & only know him/her from the profile picture, from what distance would you recognise the person? I & Sajith recognised each other from a distance of approx 400 meters. Trust me.

We started our conversation immediately & it was decided that we would go to Gazalee Restaurant to taste the sea food. Sajith was well aware of the place & believe me the food was really tasty. Very tasty to be precise.

Since we wanted to talk, without wasting time we ordered our lunch (Bombay duck, fish thali, fresh lime soda, fresh lime water) & then started our conversation. We had a very healthy discussion on various topics, movies, books, MS activities too were a part of our discussion (and yes, I did speak few Malayali words, lol).

Since we both were on the same wave length, the time passed faster and soon it was time to move to our destinations. He dropped me at Andheri station while we continued to talk during the drive. It seems as we were not yet finished.

It certainly was a pleasure to meet Sajith whom I found very friendly & cooperative. Next year I have plans to go to Pune to meet my uncles & shall definitely meet Sajith again.

My First Mumbai Meet

Posted on Sep 25, 2009 under General

I have been looking forward to meeting some MSians in Mumbai since a longtime & did regret when I could not join them on their Lonavala trip last Sunday.

But since I was in Mumbai for the next few days a meeting was fixed with Harry, Ketan & Fenil. Venue Shabri Hotel at Santacruz (suggested by Ketan). Time 8 pm on 24-9-2009.

Courtesy technology, few phone calls were exchanged in the morning to confirm that the meeting was taking place as scheduled. All heads nodded in affirmation & in the evening all roads lead to Santacruz (amid heavy traffic though).

Unfortunately my wife & daughter could not accompany me as my daughter wanted to spend the evening with her grand parents.

I was hiding near the hotel & wanted them to look for me but the moment I saw them stepping out of Harry's car, I forgot my plan & ran towards them.

It was not difficult to identify Harry who met me with a tight hug (almost crushed few of my bones). Ketan turned out to be taller then I had assumed & we too met with a tight hug. There was this little boy Fenil, much younger then I had expected him to be, shy but still hugged me. I would have never identified him had I have to meet him alone.

I received a MS cup & a pen from Harry who had also brought with him a delicious cake with perfect Mouthshut design on it (pictures of the cake already posted by him), which we four ate along with Pav Bhaaji, Dosa, Bhel, etc. Hotel Shabri serves nice food, I must accept. Thanks Ketan for suggesting Shabri.

We spent about 90 minutes together & did discuss on various issues like DPs, Reviews, Comments, meetings, multiple IDs (very interesting), etc. Fenil preferred to be a listener while most of the talking was being done by we three. It was a healthy discussion.

Next time when I come to Mumbai, I would take Fenil for a movie of his choice (Hindi or English), may be then he will open up a bit more with me. Fenil thats a promise.

I wish we had more time on hand so that we could have continued our discussions but since Harry, Ketan & I had to travel to different destinations, we had no options but to wind up the meeting by 1030 pm so that we can reach home by midnight. Fenil fortunately stays at Dadar, which was about 30 minutes from Santacruz.

Thanks Harry, Ketan & Fenil for the wonderful evening, which I'll treasure for a long time. I do look forward to another meeting with you all in the near future.

Being Harbhajan Singh

Posted on Sep 14, 2009 under General

Harbhajan Singh is one cricketer who remains in the limelight for wrong reasons. People may not appreciate his role on field but love to run him down the moment he comes in the news for something. He has been labeled as the most indisciplined cricketer.

The latest issue which brought him into limelight was that he punched a cameraman at Bangalore airport.

Thanks to the technology, just a while ago, I watched the video clip of the incident that brought him into the limelight, where a section of the media reported that he punched the cameraman and some said he did nothing like that.

Seeing is believing. The video revealed that a cameraman was trying to get a shot of Dhoni & Harbhajan's hand came in his way & the lensman accidentally ended up hitting Harbhajan's head with the camera & the latter merely pushed the camera aside & walked away. HE DID NOT PUNCH THE CAMERAMAN.

Watch the video & judge yourself who is guilty Harbhajan or the media?

People believed in the media's report that Harbhajan punched the cameraman. After seeing the video will they agree that the cameraman hit Bhajji's head with the equipment?

I wish I was in Harbhajan's place, I would have sued the reporters for attempting to sabotage my image without reaching to the root of the cause.

Shame on you media.

Expect The Expected

Posted on Sep 11, 2009 under General

Can you guess who they are:

1) When not playing he makes statements about players or the game of cricket. And why not, corporate world's millions at stake and it is utmost important to keep him in the news. He is being marketed very carefully hence attracts positive news. Who is he?

2) Before the beginning of any series he always gets involved into some sort of controversies. Despite being an excellent cricketer, majority of people love to hate him. But he has managed to climb the ladder of success constantly. Who is he?

3) As the release date of his new film comes closer, a certain group become alert and comes out with the best negative reporting as possible to effect the success of his films. But he too has survived amid the negative surrounding. Who is he?

The answers are not difficult at all. Please try.

This is not a debate but you are free to give your reasons.
