To some extent your very correct. The film has been inspired by Raj Khosla's Classic 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh' released in 1971...much earlier before 'Shole' 1976...Even the naem 'Gabbar Singh' has been taken from 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh'...Vinod Khanna's name was 'JABBAR SINGH' ...If you compair the ...songs I will still prefer that 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh' has an upper hand.. Most of the songs from 'Sholey' were copied from some western compositions....'Mera Gaon Mera Desh' has celebrated 'Golden Jubilee' in most of the cities in India. Read More

You need to improve your Hindi Film Knowledge....When you are comparing Bhappi Lahiri with Naushad and ARR??? No Way...Bhappi Lahiri is ARR of 80sss ha !! ha !! ha!! ..I can understand your depth of knowledge of the film songs...'Jab Deep Jale Aana' is composed by Ravindra Jain for Chirchor and not ...by Bhappi as said by you.. As music lover I belive in Consistancy, Long Staying Power, Music according to the change of time and more importantly knowing the pulses of the masses..in that catagery Laxmikant-Pyarelal are no 1...( 1963 to 1998)...Your view is biased one..hence not useful...Read More

’’Akela Houn Main Humsafar Dhundhata Houn’’ is an extremely melodious song of Rafi-LP combo....Is from the film ’’JAAL’’ 1967..LP has used instrument called ’’FRENCH HORN’’ in this particular song. This use of horn has made this song melodious. It is one of the best song on the Western Style compos...ition..You are right Media is ignoring such beautiful songs... I am surprised you have not included the songs from LP-Rafi Combo..’’Mere Humdum Mere Dost’’..Chhalkaye Jaam, Na Ja Kahin Ab Na Ja...and Hui Sham Unka Khayal Aa Gaya... But good choice and good review.Read More

It seems you are too jelous of Laxmikant-Pyarelal's success..(like wise other RD fans). This site shows that RD Burman and Anu Malik has done most copies..of the songs..You know Laxmikant and Pyarelal both were very good friend of RD..They used to share the tunes...Than why their fans are fighting???... Any way enjoy the music..You should tell media.. Also read my review on Hindi Film Music...Read More

Laxmikant-Pyarelal is a name that needs no introduction in the field of Hindi Film Music or Hindustani Music. Laxmikant-Pyarelal was a household name in every part of India, from the mid sixty to the end of the century. The name represents an archive of hit film music that was churned out non-s...top right from 1963 till the end of the century. LP, Laxmikant-Pyarelal were amongst the few Hindi Film Music Directors of the good old yesteryears who were active right till the end. Simplicity, Commitment and the quality of Unconqaured Verstaility gave Laxmikant-Pyarelal a Supreme Staying Power of 35 years in the Hindi Film Music. Laxmikant-Pyarelal’s tunes used to be very simple but at the same time it used to be extremely sweet, catchy and melodius. LP had an excellent sense of what would work at the common man's level and in cinema halls, more than in Internet forums. They had a vast command over Folk and Hindustani Tunes. L-P (Laxmi-Pyare), were the composers who excelled, consistently, for more than three decades, in all forms of film songs such as Classical, Folk, Qawwali, Mujra, Western, Lori, Bhajan and Ghazal etc. They were also outstanding at exploiting several instruments, including their favorite Dholak, Tabala and also the Violin, Guitar, Bongo and Piano, Santoor, Sitar, Mendolian and many Indian as well as Western instruments. THERE ARE VERY FEW PERSONALITEIS IN THE HINDI FILM INDUSTRIES WHO HAVE SERVED THE HINDI FILMS CONSISTANTLY FOR MORE THAN 35 YEARS.. AMITABH BACHCHAN YASH CHOPRA LATA MANGESHKAR AASHA BHONSLE and LAXMIKANT-PYARELAL. It requires guts to survive for such a long period. If you are not versitle you cannot stay for such a long period. I feel Laxmikant-Pyarelal are the number one music directors..It is only Indian Media who is ignoring their music. Read More

No doubt Sachin is a great player. But when the situation demands, Sachin to play, he is always a failure. The best example is finals of World Cup 2003. And the recent ICC championship. In Test matches also I am sure he can't deliver the innings to be played under tensions. Can he play the... match winning or match innings which VVS Laxman or Dravid has played for India on so many occasions. Answer simply NO and NEVER..Read More

Ok I understand your sentiments on LP equating them with Sachin..Here are my comments.. 1) Whenever Sachin Scores Century it is not useful to the country. or whenever the sitituations demand Sachin is not delivering the goods I mean scoring big innings. Whereas ..Laxmi-Pyare have scored the ...fabeleous music to save the films from becoming flop. They have given outstanding music whenever the situtuations have demanded.. like 'Dosti', 'Bobby', 'Hero', 'Ek Duje Ke Liye'..where LP's music was the essential components of the film.. Yes you can equate LP either with Don Bradman or Stev Waugh.Read More

It is a known fact that Lata Mangeshkar was responsible for bringing up Laxmikant-Pyarelal. In fact Lata Mangeshkar have played major role in the entire musical career of LP. Lata has sung maximum numbers of songs under the banner of LP. Moreover Lata Mangeshkar sounds extremely melodious under... Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Lata Mangeshkar and Laxmikant-Pyarelal were a longer, larger, closer and more rewarding association that than what ANY composer has had with ANY singer in Hindi cinema. From 1963, to the next 35 years, Lata Mangeshkar and and Laxmikant-Pyarelal were to chalk up an astounding 700 songs together, which accounted for one in every 10 Hindi film songs recorded by the Melody Queen, and one of every four songs composed by the duo. The unmatchable variety of songs. And what a mind boggling variety and range did we get in those 700 numbers which included chart-slammers and classics, and chaalu numbers as well as connoisseur choices. It is impossible to find that variety and that sustained excellence without monotony in the output of any other composer, with Lata or with any other singer. We get the unmatached variety of songs of Laxmikant-Pyarelal with Lata Mangeshkar. IT IS INDIAN MEDIA, DOES NOT WANT TO PROMOTE LATA / LP COMBINATION.. THEY ARE TOTALLY BIASED... Read More

It's a nice review... Just to tell you that the sweet and melodious song 'Yashomati Maiyya Se ' is from 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' and composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. However Laxmikant-Pyarelal have given so many and so good devotional songs which became super hits, it is a long list of songs. ...But LP's best super duper hit devotional songs is 'Jyot Se Jyot Jagate Chalo Prem Ki Ganga Bahate Chalo' , sung by Mukesh and Lata Mangeshkar is from 'SANT GYANESHWAR' ( 1964). You can still here this songs in almost all the temples all over the world.Read More
