A question eternally debated on many forums!!! Anyway sometimes I think we as Indians are very judgemental of other cultures. Let's not preach here Mr. Munir, cause that's what I find this review doing. Also ABCD is not politically correct anymore.. Other than that it seems to be a good expression o...f your personal opinion. Anyway I think India's losing its moral pedestal to stand on.. have you seen it of late. Regarding the showboating at parties.. totally agree. We have an easier word for them : 'hicks'.Read More

I can't seem to understand the inadvertent leaning towards Intel processors and mobos. AMD seems to have better offerings and for the Indian climate, you would want a processor which runs between 28 deg C and 45 deg C, which the Socket 939 processors satisfy and they are priced very competitively. ... To answer the question as to how local assemblers sell computers so cheap is because they use something called a 'pull'. Processors salvaged from computers phased out by businesses, especially servers.Read More

Vivek_c doesn't know how to spell, let alone know anything about music. Don't care what he thinks. 'Prem_dude' is a kid, I mean, who uses 'dude' anymore, unless they've been watching too much MTV. As far as knowledge goes, I don't think this guy's offering me a job as a DJ, so don't have to justi...fy myself to him. Don't care what freaks think, so save your breath. Read More

Lyla and Mrs. Medha are generally very generous with their ratings. If they have complained, you must be doing something really wrong. I'll be cruel, because I have the luxury to be and ask if you ever passed fourth grade essay writing? But the good thing is that you have realized that you are fa...r from being 'professional'. Boy! what a schmuck.Read More

LOL, who told you it was a book. Please recommend me to get flagged. I am tired of this site anyway. Never compared myself to A.O. Scott. Inane comparison. I can only hope to be as good. Atleast he doesn't recommend saying 'Oops don't want to give away the story', LOL.

You missed the entire point of the movie. Everybody has a crush..I agree..but how many crushes teach you to live life with grace in the face of adversity. I am refraining from rating the review, lest I be accused of being vindictive.

Vivek, WTF are you talking about? A movie review is composed of the story and how the actors portray the characters in equal parts. I could've have slobbered over the delicious Ms. Bellucci, but didn't, so your comment seems to have been made for it's own sake. Do me a favor and read 'How to crit...ique a movie' by A.O. Scott, the film critic for the New York times.Read More

'Dude' is such a puerile word. I understand that you are trying to be hep, but really, a better choice of words is warranted. Anyway coming to the fact that you want to get personal regarding reviews, read the Iron Maiden reviews. What can I say to somebody who thinks IM is the greatest? Probably... 'grow up' Acid, I agree, the Eagles suck. I can understand the sentiment of prem-dude regarding the Eagles, he's from Bangalore. (An insider joke BTW)Read More

Your reviews are to the point and eloquent. A rare combination. Be sure to read Slate's guide to Sideways. They have an excellent wine section too. If you haven't toured Napa valley, you should. Personally prefer the Australian varieties.

A fair amount of movies suffer from the ''realisation syndrome'', where the book is far superior to the movie. Alexander Pickett, who wrote the screenplay for the movie and is also its director, seems to be well versed with, but oblivious to the obvious symptoms. He has made a movie, which while...Read more

Wouldn't put Harley on top of that list. Having personally owned a Triumph, an Indian and a WWII era Royal Enfield, the Triumph & the Indian top the Harley in sheer performance. Unfortunately they don't make Royal Enfields like they used to. The best bet would be to buy one in an Army surplu...s sale and mod it, because they are the only 750 cc Enfields you can get.Read More

I may not agree with all your points but have to agree that was a good analysis. Ever wonder why people didn't decipher the underlying cynicism in the Gita? It's the word of God, that life's just a series of well-enacted scenes, reminding us that we shouldnt' take ourselves seriously.

For taking the time to read and comment. Mukund, The cops wait after 11.00 pm every night at major intersections and from what I've heard make a windfall from drunk drivers. So my advice is if you are sampling the fare of the pubs, get a ride home. Yup that's right, its too crowded even to walk.... The city has a lot of charm and charming women (I miss the girls a lot) My mother lived in Mumbai or Bombay(like the latter better) in the late 60s & early 70s. She has pics of the place and its unbelieveable what the place has become.Read More

Sweet, that was some review. Haven't read a more passionate one for a while. I agree that the book was kind of self-promoting. Don't know much about Infosys except that one of my friends who passed the interview was denied by HR saying that his BE marks was too low. And this was a guy who did his ...MS in UNC, Chapel Hill. Since when did BE in India become a valid yardstick over MS in the US. Are we talking about the same 'Seetha', cause I know somebody like that? M2M me.Read More

Your review was fairly good, but have to disagree with some of the points mentioned. 'But just remember to buy either Segate or Samsung' They are decent performers but the Hitachi DeskStar line outperforms both of them and are universally available. You could've mentioned whether the HDDs are I...DE/SATA/SATA2/SCSI 'AMD dont heat up that much' Prior to Cool N' Quiet of the AMD64, AMD processors were notorious for their overheating. 'Whichever you go with, you must check the compatibility with your motherboard! If its not compatible then you are left with an expensive piece of junk' : Slot matching is universal. What one should look for is if the motherboard has a 1x/2x/4x/8x slot. Backward compatibility is an issue here. Anyway have you seen the quality of onboard graphics cards of late? They suck. 'This basically allows more memory to be transported in the CPU at one time', you mean more instructions per cycle because of the extra registers. Of course it does theoretically support upto 4 TB of RAM. 'none of the operating sytems(except certain flavors of Linux) support 64bit processors', they support 64-bit processors but not 64-bit applications. Anyway Xp 64-bit looks good. Read More

I was just pointing out that the nuns/priests were acting like they were holier than thou by refusing this person's kids admission. Did I ever mention the superiority or inferiority of any religion? Also Catholicism is only a branch of Christianity, the parent religion. I never indicted Christian...ity of sodomy, nor did I ever say that the followers of Catholicism are pedophiles. Also seems like your comment on Born Agains going only to their schools came out because of a large chip on your shoulder. 'The difference is the west has the guts to admit the truth'. Don't even go there with me. Read More
