I have been using Zerodha as my primary broker since 2015. They are very handy if you are looking to trade in stocks or options spreads with the objective of making short-term profits. However, if you are primarily an investor, who would like to invest long-term, especially in mutual funds, Z...Read more

There is a racket of fraudsters with their base in Delhi region. They will call from different numbers, so its better to just cut them off straight away. I still receive similar Delhi-based calls, trying insurance frauds. I simply cut them off each time

Would you like to mention the name of the doctor who treated you. I am getting my mother treated there as well, so your feedback could be quite helpful

Insurance agents are worse than pimps. Pimps sell wh***s, and you already know that you are getting into trouble if you seek forbidden pleasure. Insurance agents act like respectable people, use a 'mask' of decency, and defraud people. You expect peace of mind, and get trouble instead

How long have you been a PNB Metlife agent, my dear? You are very obviously a Metlife agent creating a false review

I received similar calls and posted my reviews here(you can check my profile). When I contacted Metlife, they simply denied any connection with these callers. Trust me, these are private agents or sub-agents, who take the 'responsibility' of bringing back customers to Metlife, without creati...ng any legal problem for the company. If a customer falls for the trap, and buys another policy, the company rewards all these 'dalaals'. If you complain, the company denies any involvement.Read More

I tried Reliance broadband once. They were really good for the first couple of months. After that, they had some revenue sharing issues with the local cable operators and the same hell that everyone else goes through. The only way out would be to take advice from other users in the locality and choo...se the ISP that has best performance in that area, whatever the nameRead More

These are genuine calls with fraud intentions. See my own review, where I have given all details. Most of these calls originate from the Delhi NCR region. Metlife probably has a secret unwritten pact with insurance agents to 'persuade' or lure customers without themselves doing anything illegal. All private insurers have an unwritten policy of not entertaining customers if they try to cancel policy, stop payment, etc. For all such requests, the only way to cancel a policy during the free lookup period is to simulatneously send email and a written application by courier(with proof of deliver...y). That way, in the event of non-compliance, it is possible to pursue legal action against the comapny and possibly seek compensation as well. A final word of advice: NEVER trust an insurance agent blindly, even if he is your twin brother. Always do proper research on the policy you are taking. If an insurance agent tries to rush you, without getting your doubts clarified, simply tell him/her to 'PISS OFF'.Read More

It is a known fact that insurance agents resort to blatant lies, mis-selling, as well as pressure tactics(like you need to buy an insurance policy for bank loans, locker, etc.) to meet their sales targets. It does not matter what the customers' requirements are, you can always'trust' an agent to...Read more

I am interested in Zerodha. So I have few questions for you. It will be a lot of help if you can give me your honest assesment on these: 1. Do you experience frequent/occassional server crashes? 2. If and when you do experience server crashes, can you effectively trade over phone? 3. Do you do F...nO trades on the platform? If so, how long do they take to transfer profits? 4. Zerodha told me that they have two methods of transferring money to a trading account-- a) via instant money transfer b) via RTGS/NEFT transfer. Which one do you find more convenient, and do they charge extra for instant tarnsfer facility? Hope, you can give me these clarifications without any trouble.Read More

Can you mention which policy, and when you took it out? Only ULIPs can provide this kind of returns, but only if they were taken after 2013. Before that, high surrender charge and high entry load(premium allocation charge) , made them loss-making if you invested for less than 10 years. So, your stor...y seems a bit too good to be true, unless you are an agent.Read More

When we studied at PESIT, we felt a bit like robots. Anyone getting less than 70% in his semester exam, would probably sleep less than 4 hours a day to make up for it in the next semester. Otherwise, we would stick out like sore thumbs among our classmates, especially in campus interviews

ULIPs are just a fad to lure customers who would otherwise choose cheaper traditional plans. The potential higher returns are largely neutralized by the high premium allocation charges in the first 3 years. In fact, the companies were fleecing customers using the high allocation and exit charges, wh...ich is why IRDA ammended some of the rules for ULIPs to make them less 'damaging' to customers. Actually, private insurers in India operate in the grey area between legality and morality. While they stick to the law to avoid trouble, their ethics are highly questionable.Read More

Yes, they do cheat people out of their hard earned money. Four rules apply for any insurance policy: 1. Never trust an agent or employee, even if he/she is your own child. Their whole career depends on snatching money from new clients, so they will only have their own interest in mind. These days d...on't even trust bank employees, beacuse banks are selling bogus insurance policies like street food. 2. Never use any insurance policy as an investment, even tax saving investment. Look at it only as a life cover or medical insurance. Don't let anyone fool you by saying any fancy stories of high returns. Effective returns from insurance policies can be negative, or if you are lucky enough barely the same as fixed deposits. For tax savings purposes, there are many better options like ELSS. 3. When dealing with customer care, always keep proof of communication, like email transcripts or photocopies of letters or applications. Phone communications are best avoided, because you can't use them as proof of discrepancy. 4. These days, do some homework on the internet, and if possible buy a policy online. At least you will know exactly what you are getting into. Read More

Let me share some interesting details with you, Max Life employee in disguise. 1. When we visit banks, or open new bank account, insurance agents surround us like hungry stray dogs. 2. We don't ask for insurance policies, let alone rebates. Insurance agents or employees get our phone numbers from ...various sources like banks, or previous policies. Let me assure you that one common selling strategy is to visit a customer who already has some policy, with the excuse of providing some 'free advice'. The advice only turns out to be another policy. 3. Correct ourselves first, you bloody cheater? Correct yourself first, fake reviewer. The average middle class person is more honest than all insurance agents taken together. We DON'T LIE in our policy documents. Insurance agents LIE when SELLING these crap. 4. Pay first! We are not your father's servant! We have the RIGHT to study any offer document before investing. If you REFUSE to answer our questions before we invest, you are VIOLATING IRDA regulations. 5. ECS mandates are big trap that your company uses. A customer who pays by check, bank draft or other methods, can easily stop paying optional premium. With ECS mandate your employees will simply dilly-dally until the payment date is due, then the money will get automatically credited from your bank account and you can do nothing about it. For once, Max Life, why don't you stop giving these automated replies: 1. If a customer has a grievance, you lecture him by saying that this is a long term savings, nothing more. 2. If a customer(most likely your own agent or employee) sings praises, you thank him profusely. I dare you Max Life, to reply to this comment, if you truly follow honest business practices(as your TV ads claim). And please, no standard automated replies.Read More
