Thx for appreciating! BTW Voodoo was taken over long back by nVidia ...So there's no such thing as a Voodoo on Radeon (Coz Ati and nVidia are the only dominant players in the gfx market, and are cutthroat competitors) so i guess ur dealer is trying to take u for a ride....
For a lap...top, frm wht i have heard, a Geforce Go5700 is the most balanced GFX card...though if u r not too keen on gaming, a Intel Extreme Graphics 2 is enuff for most needsRead More

@Leandra: I never knew that a review is meant to be an entertaining piece of prose :-)
For a movie or a book, maybe...but for a big investment like a alaptop, I tried to cover all the questions that a perso...n may have before taking the plunge
@catherine: One can't help bt keep the revu techie for a product like a laptop...but wherever possible, I have given a layman definition of techie terms....
Also, I know that this review may seem boring/complex/full of jargon for a casual reader, but for someone with the patience (read- prospective buyer) to go thru this in detail, most if not all will make a lot of sense when read frm the beginning to the endRead More

Neway, I paid 52K for the laptop+bag + 500 for card service charges..took some hard driven bargaining though :-)

Me Wondering if you had read sumthng between the lines in ur first go at it...
As for Chennai, I recently shifted here from Gurgaon and in comparison, it certainy pales out on a lot of fronts....+ had lotsa bad experiences here, at least initial...ly....
BTW i did end up picking up the V2035 today :-)...I was plng to pik it up since last week which is the reason I landed up at ur review...

- ummm...Hope u wouldn't mind a factual correction....:-D
The v2036AP is not based on a P4 processor, but it is a Pentium M (Dothan) processor....
The Pentium M is as similar to a P4 as are (:-( for lack of a better analo...gy) the commonalities b'ween you n me ;-)

- Thanks for letting me know u r the best debutant on mouthshut;-)..Perhaps tells me the reason why I hadn't been visting mouthshut for ages...The grey cell content needed for appreciating this site, and its members is way above the abysmal intellect of lowlife like me :-)

! more flaw with the fone is that it has only monoaural output, so u can't use it as a propah MP3 player...I am not too sure if it provides the support for adding addl SD memory ....

Good review..But guess u sud come out of chennai and take a look at some of the other (and far better ) cities in the country.....Gurgaon and Pune to start with,,,,,
Present day Chennai has kinda got stuck sumehwere b'ween what u refer to as Chennai and Madras....sad part is it has taken the wors...t aspects of both .....Horrible traffic, congestion, water probs etc represent the new face while extreme dislike for all outsiders, too much (and rather undeserved) pride in the past and of the tAmilian culture...a special way of making all non-Tamilians unswelcome...etc frm are the aspects it has retained frm its glorious (???) pastRead More
