My name is Jaspreet. I read your review because it was about a personality that I had not heard of. When I started reading it, I was surprised due to many reasons. First reason - Taekwondo! I live in London, and belong to the Cranford Taekwondo club. It has been 1 and half years since I joined a...nd I'm glad I did. Here in London, football and even cricket is the major sport. Whenever, I talk about taekwondo, some of my fellow students disregard it as not even being a sport. It clearly lacks the acknowledgement that it deserves, despite being the most touching and beneficial sport - one which harnesses the skill not only for the sport but also in every other area of life. Reading about Mr Gobind Jaiswal has been very informative. I'm glad to see that someone is trying very hard to preach the soul of taekwondo in India. Your review was fantastic, and it feels great to come across someone with the same hobby - taekwondo - for the first time on MS. PS...is your taekwondo part of the ITF or WTF? With few words... A terrific review man. It appears as if once again the Sippy camp provides a satisfying entertainer. It appears as if this one is better than Bluffmaster. Well what can I say, your reviews are just mindblowing..just keep writing them. With few words... But true words... Aapka Yuvay

Hey thanks for commenting as always yaar. You're right, I did comment Sanjay Leela Bhansali and his movie Black excessively in my review of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but after watching the movie again and watching the original 'The Miracle Worker' I realised the differences. Bhansali's treatment in... my eyes was sensitive but touching towards the overtly melo dramatic manner. His vision, although not original, had started of noble but somewhere down the line he became too concerned about the audience. Hence, I believe that Black, which could have been the greatest masterpiece, falls short by some distance. Nevertheless, I still do like the movie for other reasons. Aparhan believe me is one movie you have to see. In my view its a brilliant example of how to structure a complicated script in a recognisable and understandable manner. Gangajal, I didn't like that much either. I agree, Parineeta had a weak climax but there were many other things going for that movie. Lol..thanks for the correction. It was a stupid mistake from my behalf to call Anees Bazmee a debutant director as I have Hulchul and Pyar to Hona Hi Tha and Deewangee on DVD. I think I got confused as No Entry was his directorial venture after some time. Must say your eyesight is very sharp! Shiny Ahuja's first movie was HKA, but it just so happened that Karam released earlier. Thus, I thought that I would credit HKA as his debut movie as this was his first time in front of the camera for a movie. Thanks for commenting and appreciating as always. With few words... Its so nice to speak with you again. I was really busy with a lot of things. No Entry was one movie which almost got me in trouble in the cinema because I was laughing a bit too loud. I guess its the innocence of Socha Na Tha why some people including me and you like it so much. Happy Ne...w Year to you too. Hopefully I will write more, or at least read and comment more on MS. Hey Chandra...yep its me. How are you? I missed you and your cute reviews a lot too. I've been really busy with work and sports and more work and the usual teenage problems. Infact after I took a break from writing on MS, I didn't even get a chance to write poetry anymore. Thanks for app...reciating the review as you always do. I intend to try and write more frequently on MS...but I won't promise because promises are easily broken. Lol..I could have bet my life that you still liked Abhi and Saif. I have not seen My Brother Nikhil, hence I could not comment on it. To most people’s dismay I left out Black as I realise that it is far from a masterpiece and has exaggerated values. Earlier I felt that it was brilliant but over a period of time I realised my view has changed. I personally fe...el that this is another Karan Johar movie in disguise with the pretentious emotions. The story and screenplay were plagiarised and SLB’s direction left a lot to be desired. Please feel free to discuss further. With few words… But true words… Aapka YuvayRead More

1) Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi My favourite movie of the year. Why? The reasons are as follows. Theme – being a person with left winged views myself, I was delighted to see a movie based on the Naxalite movement in Bihar. Although knowing very little about the movement and conditions in Bihar dur...ing the 1970s, I felt rather educated by the end. Script – this is a prime example of intellect, sophisticated and perfected cinema. The development and purpose of each character is visible. Whether it is the theme of the revolution, the divide between the classes, the incomplete love stories, the corrupted state of affairs in India, the script somehow manages to do justice to each theme. Not once can you state that too many themes are tackled incoherently. Direction – Sudhir Mishra really surprises with the flair that he shows. His control over every frame can be measured, as he never lets the movie lose track of its various different themes. Performances – These are of the highest possible quality. Shiney Ahuja leads the march with an unbelievable debut performance. He provides charm, a dynamic personality and a new dimension to his role. Kay Kay, is also brilliant. Another feather in his already well decorated cap. Chitrangada is another able performer who really impresses. The other character actors are also a delight to watch. The movie is not presented in a glamorous frame, but the locales are portrayed realistically hence maintaining the feel of the movie. Hazaaron Khwaishen Aisi is one of the finest products ever to be released in the history of Indian Cinema.Read More

2) Iqbal Being a cricket fan, I was delighted to see a movie on sports. Movies like these are rare in Bollywood and a viewer has a craving to see these genres to be attempted. And if the movie is handled the way Iqbal is, then the craving only grows. Nagesh Kukunoor delves deep down in the emotions... of each character and their surroundings and comes up with a simple small time movie on paper but an emotional epic on the screen. Here is a movie that does not display any fake emotions; even the slightly exaggerated dream of Shreyas Talpade does not appear superficial at all. From the moving script to the near perfection execution, Nagesh Kukonoor enlightens Bollywood cinema once again. Handling the fragile emotions of children, Nagesh Kukunoor displays his mastery of the art of direction. He has drawn larger than life performances from his cast, including Naseerudin Shah, Shreyas and Shweta. The music progresses the theme of the movie and the lyrics are also mesmerising. Iqbal is by no means a small time movie, this is one large canvas which conveys this fact humbly and not loudly.Read More

3) No Entry Anees Bazmee’s directorial debut sent the cash registers chinging. The biggest blockbuster hit of the year, No Entry, is the craziest laugh riot to be witnessed on the screen this year. With big production values, No Entry was pure eye candy from the first frame to the last. Altho...ugh the first half was not abundant in comedy, the second half definitely was. It was not an entirely logicless comedy as it was actually treated with a realistic yet commercial approach. It was difficult to decide whether Anees Bazmee’s script was better or his direction. All in all, this was a complete performance by Anees Bazmee. The music was quite weak, with the exception of the title track. ‘Kahan Ho Tum’ was a hilariously filmed situational track that deserves a special mention. Cinematography was stunning as the entire look of the movie was grandiose. Performance wise, Anil Kapoor led the show. This will definetly be one of his most memorable performances as he cements his status as a versatile actor with this wacky performance. The control over dialogue delivery that he holds is mastered by very few. Salman Khan was a scene stealer. Although in an extended guest appearance, he was equally funny. Fardeen Khan also impressed given the fact that he had a weaker role, and had to emote through comic expressions. Lara Dutta was fantastic, followed by Bipasha Basu and Celina Jaitley. Anees Bazmee should already get bonus points for extracting a credible performance from Celina Jaitley. Esha Deol is forgettable.Read More

Hmm I guessed most of them..all except the first one, but I had heard that song somewhere. I agree with all except maybe Adnan Sami..his songs I feel are heart rendering. Im surprised Daler Mehndi isn't up there...he has done nothing for Punjabi music other than stereotyping it as Sardars in... colourful (and ridiculous) long outfits with matching turbans tightening screw bulbs. I absolutely detest the person. Anyways...a very good review . With few words... But true words... Aapka YuvayRead More

Sorry Chandra...ive bin sooo busy wiv things. I only rated one of your reviews because I didn't hav enough tym to give a proper comment. I actually did not even hav enough time to rate it...but I still found a few seconds. Your review is definetly one to read as it promotes the readings ...of other reviews. I completely agree with what you have said..and whenever..if ever...I am on MS and find time, I'll definetly read as many reviews as possible. Your wise words never fail to enlighten Chandu madam. 'Sorry I'm late, I don't carry a watch on me. I don't like carrying time with me. Holding time is too much responsibility, If I lose it, I wander in futility. If ever again Im late, dont blame me. Blame the clock that strikes too fast, and moves without telling me. With few words... But true words... Aapka YuvayRead More
