It is indeed very shocking and disgusting. But such is the state of medical insurance in India - very pathetic. Things exist only on paper - but when we actually go to claim then their true colors are revealed - till then they collect premiums accurately and on time. Same accuracy is missing at the ...time when they have to pay out claims - even genuine ones like this. All authorities and government included - New India is a govt. company - turn a blind eye towards suffering by us Indians. All the medical insurance companies include very tricky exclusion clauses knowingly. Now they have set up IRDA (Insurance Regulatory Authority) but they are also part of govt. - so it is a case of left hand and the right hand of the same government ! To summarize - health insurance in India is only a myth - it is better to avoid it after preparing for eventualities oneself from our own savings. At least it will save us time and from running around from pillar to post in vain!Read More
