allrite...i made a call to Airtels delhi CC number today. The call was completed in around 5 minutes. The person who took the call was cooperative but trying to mislead. She said my number was disconnected on 24 July while the fact it the disconnection was done on 2 July. She goes on to say that ...the refund is paid in 60 days, while i was earlier told (and the bill to claims it)... 24 working days are required to get the refund back! Airtel now reminds me of Indian Railways. I recently booked a 2ac tier on Delhi to Mumbai Rajdhani. The waiting list was 117 when it was booked in August. On the date of travel, November 2, the deat could not be confirmed and the WL stood at 12. I had to take a overtly priced flight from Mum to delhi. Now, logic says that if ur ticket is not confirmed then IR owes u money. But IR never pays it back to u unless u ask them! So to get the money back u need file a TDR (get it signed by the TT on that train..if its an i-ticket). Now since i was in a hurry i cudnt get it signed by the TDR (and anyways..there was a huge rush and the TT of the trian was nowhere to be seen.) I reach mUmbai and approach the Station authorities...they make me write an application and say it will take at least a month and a half to respond to my case!!! Guess Airtel is no les a sarkari organisation. Read More

shalu, babu and Raja, Airtel has too many problems...not one. But it doesnt mean that the other cellular players are good and devoid of such faults. Its the same everywhere. Consumer is a reatrd taken for a ride..not the king.

Pushkar, Tanna, there's something wrong in their process, or why else wud such a situation arise. and more than the process its their lack of will to set it right.

Zoher, There is a method even in madness. Airtel though is an exception. So far i have been going round and round with my grievance. I remember another incident. I visited a customer care center in Delhi to pay my bill. The lady at the counter was busy taking a personal phone call while ther...e were two more people lined up ahead of me in the queue. Thankfully my turn came after a few agonizing minutes. Though once the CCE's colleagues surprised her with some flowers and presents as it was her birthday. Because of this, i had to stand in the queue for another 10 minutes...a complete waste of time. Later, as a custom Airtel sent me a message thanking me for depositing the money and queried if I was satisfied with the service at the CC center? I replied NO. So, a lady called me back and asked me the reasons. She informed me that action will be taken. The next month i visited the same customer care center and saw the same woman handling the customers in the same irate fashion. I realized Airtel's level of consumer committement to such trivial but important issues. Rachit. Read More

Tejaswini, You are right about physically lodging the complaint at the customer service center. Though in my case it wont be of any help as the concerned number has been activated from Delhi and as such falls under the Delhi jurisdiction. So, the airtel CC executives wont be able to give me any i...nformation on this. Yes, a few CC executives are understanding and do help out. In my case its a collective failure of the CC executives, the Airtel IVR system, and the airtel finance department. The company has been really careless in disconnecting the connection and then returning the refund. In your case; appearing in the court and then the CC executives telling you that you never appeared in the court goes on to show how ill-equipped the company's process is. The scene is really pathetic. Thanks for sharing a comment. Aarvee.Read More

The mobile service provider, Airtel, just aint worth it anymore. Though I have been a satisfied Airtel subscriber since the last 3-4 years, a few recent incidents have made me think twice about continuing with this unfAIRTEL service provider. Recently I moved to Mumbai from Delhi. My delhi nu...Read more

hi! I like your review. But i think its not strong enough to push someone (who hasnt read the Novel to actually pick one). I read this book a month back. I am not sure why i liked it so much - was it because i read a novel after long, was it actually this good, i had loads of time to pass, or b...ecause of the emotions attached. Cant say. Liked your description. When i finished reading the novel...i realized its a very predictable story. Except for the fact that it involves the reader so much, one hardly has time to think of what happens at the end. Its like soaking up the page ur on. My fav quote : For you, a thousand times over. It speaks volumes about the character of the person who utters these words. And it also speaks about the transformation that Aamir underwent. I am planning to read the other novel by the same author. btw, which newspaper do u work for? Rachit.Read More

Farookh bhai, You already seem to have passed on a judgment - the ad is vulgar. And to top it all..the ladies (who are saner than men are)seem to be in agreement. So, its my bad luck that i cannot offer reasoning to why i liked the TVC. But i guess, i'll now restrain myself. I would not like to ta...lk about the funny creative effort that went into the putting together of this ad, the acting skills of Sana, and the reasonablly superb brand recall created with the 'toing' sound. ' But I wonder, why people dislike this TVC? What actually is wrong with the script? How could you have made it bettter? And would deleting portions of the TVC make it any better? If i were the client...i would rather not play the ad...than delete portions and play it. I wonder, is the dislike because folks do not like watching it with their family...when all of a sudden a PYT crops up and makes 'suggestive gestures'. Gestures which are double meaning? Well, aint we Indians experts in doing (saying) double meaning talks? Or pick any Govinda movie...we feel entertained when Chi Chi entertains with his pelvic thrusts and a script thats misogynist. Never have a problem there. And love watching it with our familys well. For that matter...we never have a problem with a James Bond movie. Or has it go to do with the element of sex added to it? I think there's more 'sex' floating around in our society than this TVC carries. In fact the TVC, i admit is suggestive, which is better. Coz how viewers interpret it in their imagination is left to them. Guess, the only way for clients is to make two TVCs. A simple TVC that talks about the underwear. Withut any element of creativity. The other of course is loaded with all the suggestive elements...and play it late at night. I guess, no family together watches the TV late at night! That should sove the problem. By the way i loved your headline. You seem to have done a lot of research on this. :-) RV.Read More
