MS100,000/- ATTAINABLE...

Posted on Jun 24, 2008 under General

Hi Friends, I was delaying this post for quite some time, but I thought it is time to do so now.

With my gift to Nik I have reached the MS100,000/- target of gifting, today evening.

The other day Ajith(kraa) wrote an M2M to me, asking how much MS points I have. It was just for fun, noticing my never ending photo uploads. The fact was that I was eagerly waiting to get some extra time to post this and tell the MSians that I reached the mile stone of MS100,000/- few weeks back. I do not consider that myself is the first one to reach this score I can with all my logic can expect Lyla to have MS100,000/-, if not something near to that. I was thinking it will be an occasion to announce it in another way, say my gifting of 100,000/- plus points so far.

I know, it is not an easy mile stone to reach but not that difficult one as well. Given the new point system one who really active can achieve this within couple of months even may be.

I use this opportunity to thank one and all contributing to achieve this feet. When I look at my MS point tally, I can see that nearly half the points are given by you people than I have taken from you. So, it is our combine run.

A special word of thanks to Ramya, who gave the first gift to me and which kick started my gifting to others. All of you have sent gifts one time or other to me and they were my real motivation as well. I can count a 100 names (+/-3) I am liable for this and remember all of you.

So friends, enjoy the day enjoy the life….it is a good day to mark it…

Woodstock Villa

Posted on May 30, 2008 under Cinema

Greed & Lust always go hand in hand.    And each deed has its own positive or negative feedback.   To find a U turn for people who fall prey for greed or lust is quite difficult.

I was 5 minutes or so late to the movie so my review will be based on the rest of the movie.

A well furnished Woodstock Villa whose owner is not around is witnessing to a high drama.   The movie is all about who plan and who execute the high drama filled with greed, lust and betrayal.  Dissatisfied wife of a business tycoon (Arbaaz Khan) is kidnapped for ransom.   The chase is on to find the kidnapper.    Police is there to assist.  The message is received that she is now being dead.   The story start rolling over again in the view point of the kidnapper (Sikhander Kher) whose weakness is beautiful ladies.  For his part he has taken huge loans from dangerous money lenders and his rental house is also on notice for failure to pay the rent.  In a disco bar he meets with beautiful and bold lady (Neha Uberoi).  When the girl later visit his apartment and request for help he could not deny it, less he know about her plans.

The film is a short one, approximately 1 hr 40 minutes long.

The story is too thin and the logic behind is pathetic.

The film is technically brilliant with good Cinematography and sound effects.    Songs are quite good but choreography is just average.  It could have easily trimmed again for 15 minutes plus 3 songs to make it a 1 hr 10 minute film.

The new comer actor Sikhander Kher (Looks like thin Shoib Akhtar) and Neha Uberoi (Somehow I thought of Tanushree Dutta) are good but the script let them down.    Arbaaz Khan was good and rest of the cast is there for the name.   Sanjay Dutt was there in a song but didn't left any impression.  Not sure Saif was there or not in the first song which was almost finished when I enter the theatre.

Flows on the plot, it is better we don't talk about it.   Though the idea was good scripting was very poor.

I will not post this as a review, firstly because I missed the first 5 minutes and secondly films with sex content generally undergo serious editing over here and the product offered in India may be entirely different.   Furthermore I am less motivated to write a review in these late hours.  As I could see I will say the movie doesn't worth a watch.

My rating may be 1.5 and a non recco…

Dubai is known for its Gold!  The city of Gold is shining to the streets.  I took a journey to the golden street of Bur Dubai where the street was earlier known for textiles but now slowly but steadily changing to Gold.    The world famous Gold souk in Deira Dubai is still waiting for my camera eyes…but here I take some snaps from my evening walk through the street of Bur Dubai.

If you are interested in Gold Ornaments I am sure the 18 photos uploaded in my profile will be interesting to you.  All of them are taken from the windows of those gold shops a glimpse of what we can expect from them… And all of them are taken within 10 minutes… have look!!

Gandhi Cap...my doubt...

Posted on May 24, 2008 under India

I don't know if it is my ignorance…but it is when I checked the history photos from the profile of Nareysh (mayicontact_u) I got this doubt.  Why Gandhi is not wearing a Gandhi Cap like Nehru?   Or was he not wearing one?  What may be the reason?  Do you know why?  If so, please share the information….

Business@Spirituality INC

In Kerala, our media is always after trends and sensational news.  The new sensationalized news is that there are many and many fraud 'swamis' in the state.

It all started with one person, called 'Santhosh Madhavan' is been accused and arrested of taking money under the cover of spirituality and living a lavish life.  He is under police custody as of now.  His marriage function was attended by high rank police officers and he had high level political connection. In search of his house a lot of money, Skin of a tiger, police uniform, blue films and several documents of fraud are uncovered.  Sooner at least 3 girls accusing him of sexually use them.   One lady whose face is identified in a film however said she didn't have a complaint.

Within couple of days the earlier swami's arrest one Swami reached to the police station accusing media of harassment and said he will shoot himself and suicide witnessing the media.   To the terror of reporters and police, the Swami fired 3 bullets but nobody died except minor injuries.  It came to light that the license for the gun was given without proper police verification even.  The police supported all the drama in the police station is been suspended and accused where the 'Swami' is in police custody.

Sooner a raid on all the 'swamis' functioning in the state been ordered and police is searching their houses, ashram's etc.  Fearing backlashes most of them are now fled to safe places where the followers are trying hard to protect the name.  People are now wondering which one is good and which one is bad. The bad name put some shadow on all the spiritual men.

Adding political colour to the events, DYFI (The youth wing of CPM) marched to a 'Swami's house and destroyed things over there accusing illegal collection of money.   BJP start their share, marching to a Christian priest who claims can do miracles but possess lot of land.   A Muslim 'Thangal' who said to have posses the talent to strip 'Jinn' from people by giving egg to throw on the walls is also flashing in news.  KSU the student wing of Congress too did their part in protesting.

These are the major ones and there are many other small scale scandals too.  In a 30 minute news these news occupy not less than 10 minutes.

On the one hand all those people who make use of spirituality to make money and cheat people, their action need to be condemned.   The ones who really work for the good of spiritual growth of people should be promoted.   At the same time it is a pity to see that media didn't have anything else to project except these scandals.  God save God's own country from all the evils of fraud spirituality and from the scandal media.

===CRIME & HOPE===

Posted on May 20, 2008 under General

Did you read my review on Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment

Here I post some interesting quotes from the book which I hope will be interesting to read and think...

"It would be interesting to know what it is men are most afraid of.  Taking a new step, uttering a new word is what they fear most."

"She should not barter her moral freedom for comfort"

"Why almost all crimes are so badly concealed and so easily detected, why almost all criminals leave such obvious traces?...the chief reason lay not so much in the material impossibility of concealing  the crime as in the criminal himself."

"When reason fails, the devil helps"

"We have facts", they say.  But facts are not everything – at least half the business lies in how you interpret them!'

"I am a man because I err!  You never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes and very likely a hundred and fourteen."

"God give peace to the dead, the living have still to live."

"If society is normally organized, all crime will cease at once, since there will be nothing to protest against and all men will become righteous in one instant."

"Logic presupposes three possibilities, but there are millions!  Cut away a million, and reduce it all to the question of comfort"

"Extra ordinary men have a right to commit any crime and to transgress the law in any way, just because they are extraordinary….it is not an official right, an inner right-to decide in his own conscience to overstep. "

"The man of genius is one of millions, and the great geniuses, the crown of humanity, appear on earth perhaps one in many thousand millions….but there certainly is and must be a definite law, it cannot be a matter of chance."

"Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart.  The really great men must, I think have great sadness on earth."

"Life is only given to me once and I shall never have it again; I don't want to wait for "the happiness of all".  I want to live myself or else better not live at all."

"Break what must be broken, once for all, that's all, and take the suffering on ourselves."

"Poor man's pride', which compels many poor people to spend their last savings on some traditional social ceremony, simply in order to do 'like other people' and not to 'be looked down upon'.

"Whoever is strong in mind and spirit will have power over them.   Anyone who is greatly daring is right in their eyes.  He who despises most things will be a lawgiver among them and he who dares most of all will be most in the right!  So it has been till now and so it will always be.  A man must be blind not to see it!"

"What all men needs is fresh air, fresh air…more than anything."

"If once a girl's heart is moved to pity, it's more dangerous than anything."

"I fail to understand why bombarding people by regular siege is more honorable."

"If only a man is a gentleman, all the rest can be gained by talents, learning, good sense, genius.   As for a hat – well, what does a hat matter?  I can buy a hat as easily as I can a bun;  but what's under the hat, what that hat covers I can't buy that."

"What is meant by crime?   My conscience is at rest.  Of course it was a legal crime, of course the letter of the law was broken and blood was shed.  Well, punish me for the letter of the law…and that's enough.  Of course, in that case many of the benefactors of mankind who snatched power for themselves instead of inheriting it ought to have been punished at their first steps.  But those men succeeded and so they were right, and I didn't, and so I had no right to have taken that step."

There are more to explore in the book...
