Hi! I read your review today again after many years. I have a question. In the song, Rehna Tu, do you know the name of the instrument that is used right at the end of the song? It could be just an electronic keyboard generated sound but sounds like an exotic wind instrument.

So far there have been a very few celebrities whose death moved me to tears. One was Michael Jackson, recently Swarnalatha and now it is Jagjit Singh. I don't know if it is a coincidence that all of them were singers. I cried at the news of their death because they are gone forever and will neve...Read more

Just last week my husband and I were discussing the core causes for corruption. I understood that one of the main reasons for say a Chief Minister to be corrupt is the Party - they need funds to run the party. Though it did answer my question, it also opened up many questions in my mind at the s...Read more

These days you have a lot of movies being promoted as "a musical". They don't understand what a "musical" actually is. Though VTV doesn't claim itself to be a "musical", I guess it gets very close to being one. Each song tells a story. Listen to the songs after watching the movie and you will...Read more

I totally loved this album. Each song is so special and different. Genda phool is so cute. Rehna tu and Dafatan are my favourites - extremely unusual sounding compositions! I remember one afternoon I would have heard just these 2 songs continuously atleast 25 times each!

After watching the movie, I have not been able to think of anything else. The story was running in my head with the songs in the background!! I had to write about it. Now, I feel better.

Got to watch a love story after ages and man! what a love story it was! Not the sugary DDLJ type and not the tragic Titanic style. This is truly something else! I like VH1 too. Though these days, it does have a lot of commercials, its still better than MTV and Channel V. I esp love the Retro stuff on Classic...And MTV was really good in the early 90s. Everything was so new and fresh. The VJs, the music...Sophia, Nonie. We even used to enjoy the Chinese pop ...music!!Read More

Your theatre experience was good fun to read. You didn't sound too involved with the movie. That's the thing about this movie. It doesn't involve you or affect you. Nevertheless a cute movie.

So many people so many lovely comments. But hats off to daya to take the effort of diving in the sea of IRs music, look for pearls, select the best and stringing all of them into this lovely chain. Nice. Out of this list, I've always loved 43 and 51. My latest are 56 & 57. Shreya G is my hot favor...ite as of today. I love the tempo of Kajuraho.. not a moment's drag. And just last week I played dheemi dheemi (shiva) on music india, clicked on 'repeat' and left it that way for almost 3 hours. Gosh! that song is so cute. Might not be completely new or pathbreaking but its just too romantic and cute. And yes,the BGMs of IR? Has someone written about it? Should look it up. Who can forget sagara sangamam? How well the director matches it with wind chimes in the lovely breezy house in Vizag. I would have watched that movie atleast 20-25 times. And mouna ragam, whenever karthik appears shouting Mr. chandramouli... Yuvan... is ofcourse doing a good job. A completely different genre altogether. Karthik Raja...made a few unforgettable tunes too (I wrote a tiny rev. about him after listening to Manadhodu Mazhaikaalam). Anyway, keep writing daya. Good job.Read More
