@ nazu561 - I recently spotted a copy in a local bookstore here (i reside in Chandigarh). It is a very famous book. You should contact your bookseller and request the person to procure a copy for you. Any decent library would have a copy of this book. Or you can try buying it online. I guess IndiaTi...mes is selling this book online.Read More

Pradeepk123 - What hope does it leave for Democracy? Great question. If you'll be so kind to visit my blog and read the entire thing, you'll come to realize that, as I say, it is better to have Pessimism of the Intellect than Optimism of the Will. But things can change. It will however, require n...othing short of a revolution to change them. Rann is the most powerful and unambiguous public indictment of media. What makes it even more surprising is that it was done in a mainstream commercial movie. Now I have been reading about media’s role in a democratic society is to ensure that the democratic and political institutions are workin...Read more

Crossing the Indian border!

Democracy Among the list of countries in your post, Britain is the only democratic country. Same is done in India with people who have illegally crossed the border. The bunch of things you listed is with people who seek asylum or are refugees. Shows all the more how a real democratic country works!!... Nice observations! Keep 'em coming...Read More

It is a complex movie. Not so much because of the story but because what it tries to argue. And the argument is the same. Not all Muslims are terrorists. But are all terrorists Muslim? Not necessarily. Christianity has shown its dirty face to the world – Ku Klux Klan. Hinduism has shown its mili...Read more

I totally agree with you man. This is one of the best spy movies on real time events in world. Certainly not the most sensitive but most certainly up there in the top 5. DeCaprio has a unique acting style and its showing in every movie - movie after movie the guy manages to deliver consistent p...erformances. He was great in Blood Diamond, great in The Departed again (where he faced machos like Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin etc etc) and now he manages to pull off a great show opposite Russel Crowe. I'd love to see him in a lawyer role in a court house drama against Denzel Washington... The movie is fast paced, the screen play is flawless, the camera work is great, the dialogues are intense, the actors deliver them passionately, the directon is great... This movie is great and most of all it makes one think... Read More

Super Review PSingh... Without giving out the details of the story you have managed to give a fair and balanced view of the movie. DeCapriao has most certainly matured a lot since Blood Diamond and The Departed and the fellow. Crowe is a veteran so no comments!! When I read the movie was direc...ted by Ridley Scott I felt assured about the quality but when I saw it - the movie just swept me off my feet. There are quite a few 'Good Lord!!' moments in the movie. This is one of the best terrorism movies I have seen offlately. Try to watch 'Rendition' and 'Syriana' if you are seriously into movies (as ur observation about entertainment-seeking-movie-goers made me think. Great work...Read More

Apt review - precise and concise. It doesn't seems the sort of movie to waste words on anyway. It is uncomprehensible why would any director back up so much money and effort on Abhishek Bachhan; trying to show him as a super hero. He has not the looks or the physique to carry it off... His costum...e sucks and he fights with a sword!!! Gimme a break man... Drona cannot even come close to Krish (allegedly this Drona character was to give Hritik Roshan a competition for his superhero avtar). Perhaps in the hands of a better director and this might have worked. But Abhishek Bachhan with his long hair, beard and over weight body looks nothing like a superhero... He is shit... this movie is shit... And ur review captures these both central ideas... Nice work... keep it up... and save everyone the time. My sympathies are with you!! Grona Rocks... Drona sucks...Read More
