I left her alone on the "13th Floor"

Oct 26, 2009 02:47 PM

Love is give and take (I know not) 2 of 2 When it comes to a product love, sometimes someone else can do a ''better'' marketing and take away what you once possessed. People may change preferences for a few reasons: 1) Just to try out something different and then never return 2) Who want the late...st, jazziest, adventure trip and were never born to be loyal 3) Who change preferences for a shortwhile, but revert to the existing relationship, and 4) those who stick to the basics and know that grass is always greener on the other side and that it should always remain the other side.Read More

Love is give and take (I know not) 1 of 2 I liked your post about love and the sad (or for good!) realization that it does not remain the same, or maybe it had to change someday as it did. So very complicated these so called feelings are when you actually go through them, and it is so easy to write... about the practicality and purpose of life till one experiences these emotions in real life. I remember my to be wife asking me (like most women would) -- what love is. My straight forward nature made be utter that ''Love is give and take.'' She was surprised and asked how business-minded I was. I said, ''If I keep loving you and get nothing in return, how long do you think I can sustain my feelings?'' And then I asked her the same question. She answered, ''love is sacrifice.'' I said, ''When we get married tomorrow and that you do all that a good wife does, while I (god forbid!) keep straying and do not give you your place, how long do you think you can do the sacrifice bit?'' She went silent but said she believes in love and its power. I kind of agreed partly. Ironically, after three years of marriage, she kind of accepts the love being sacrifice is more idealistic than real. There is no single definition of love and sometimes it seems like abstract entity. Call it business if you may, sometimes the packaging attracts and we think it is love. And when something is hard to get it is often mistaken to be worth the effort - but it really may not be. Sometimes it fizzles away for no known reason and sometimes it sticks on for a lifetime without an effort. I guess love realationships need an official, acceptable name to have a reason why one must not stray. One may love someone very much, but who can curb the instincts during weak moments with someone else. And how many of us (men/women) can live with infidelity, or attraction of our spouse for someone else.Read More

And the games men play.. (to irritate us "POOR" women)

"suniye ji..." pehli baar suna (chuckle! Hey good, hilarious post. Oh come on you don't sound like a feminist. The post was good to read. In fact, it sounded like a movie script if it can be expanded. I went into fits of laughter on the ''mahina'' stuff. That was really come NEWS for me.... BTW, was this written after Vodka or in anticipation of one! :D Just kidding.Read More

When I look back to what I always wanted in life...

Time and space I guess I guess you are right. I think time is at premium and space is being shared, and which is but natural. You really don't find time to live the life as you used to. Of course, my kid does the destressing part much better than any stress management regimen. :) Thanks for your com...ments.Read More

METROSEXUAL MEN AND ME

Oct 25, 2009 09:16 PM

Metrosexuality or Amul Macho :D When I first read about men being metrosexual, I had no clue that there exists a term that describes the kind of person I was. Chuckle! When I was a bachelor, while my friends went out on adventure trips and booze, I mostly preferred to stay back home and set my laund...ry right and changed something in terms of furniture arrangement, or maybe buy new curtains or a shoe rack. Though I liked going out, I kind of restricted myself with things that were more important and urgent like cooking and washing clothes. :D I love cooking and can survive well without a maid or a helping hand. After I got married, I was really disappointed that my ability to keep my things in order and that I did not mind making tea in the morning was being taken for granted. Geee... And I kept wondering if mentrosexuality had started to tresspass into female territory and that more was being left for me to do than I ought to have been doing after marriage. ha ha .. So, I had tough time cutting down on my metrosexuality stuff and reclaiming the lost ground as in the Amul Macho advt. like, ''bas!! ab bahut ho gaya!'' About pink shirts, I never had the courage to buy the color until my wife forced me to wear one. Frankly, I liked it. I guess whether metrosexuality or not, it's all in adjusting but not undergoing a complete transformation. Territories need not be tresspassed.Read More

I have lots of regards for the good old amby, I really admire the vintage beauty. Kind of nostalgia and emotions set in on the thought of buying one. Candidly, if I ever have idle cash, I will get one in my garage for that rare ride once in a while.

When I look back to what I always wanted in life...

Oct 25, 2009 08:10 PM General 403 Views

What did I want out of my life when I was yet to begin on the journey on my own? The roadside Rs.10/- food gave quite a kick about 10 years back. The masala chai in Ahmedabad at Navrangpura or Usmanpura was something I always looked forward to and relished to the contentment of the heart. And the...Read more

I know how it feels to be putting hard earned money in a car and the problems just keep recurring. For anyone it is a horrible experience not just about money, but also about the time and effort. I guess sometimes we get unlucky and get a bad piece. I also own a Tata Indica Xeta Petrol and thankfull...y there have not been any issues past about three years. I just hope your issues are resolved at the earliest and give you peace of mind. I am really surprised how these car makers can afford to neglect/delay such fixes. This is so shameful on their part. Had this been US, one might have had the money back along with the fine. Good luck.Read More

Just entered/gave this command to my brain; it answered as under: Down to Earth mortal being who loves to do household chores; who loves to buy things that are needed; does not indulge in spending, but wants all basic comforts in life as and when the bank balance is blessed. Loves people who c...Read more

Hey thanks. I really have not driven Swift so I would go by your comments. I think this pillar obstruction is fairly common in today's cars, as I keep hearing about it from multiple folks. I sometimes face the same in my Indica Xeta too, but it is quite tolerable. And the same with Estilo--quite tol...erable.Read More

I currently own a Tata Indica Xeta Petrol that I have been using for the past three years. We wanted to purchase a car for our dad who is 65+ and who may not be very comfortable with jazzy technology and the power steering stuff that comes in today's cars. With a budget of max 3 L (through CSD C...Read more

I am very happy about the performance so far. Overall, a good car for people like me who need...Read more
