The album opens with the track Fibre de Verre, by Paris Combo, transporting the mood to something gallic. A jazzy sound fills the room, and this is something incredible, how light and airy it is, and yet so electric and dimensional. It seems to saturate the space. Does it turn your den into a co...Read more

Madsadman and magical summer - thx, I think you'll be able to find the movie easily. sharath40 - comments welcome, but u know, there's no compulsion. I only read topics that interest me, and I read them because I wanna, not as a favor. And I dont worry about whether they read my reviews. I wr...ite what I can...but after that, its upto whoever wants to read it or not. varun yeah, Oldman goes to town. The leads were good. Read More

why Phoenix is underrated. He was on fire in Gladiator, I think I noticed him more than Crowe. Sounds like a good one - I just sat through De-Lovely, another musician bio.

It really looked like there wouldnt be any more of vintage Allen stuff. But not having seen the movie yet, I'm hearing this one doesn't feel like the usual Woody angst, but much darker. Having seen almost all his films (big fan, yes :)- I'm ur opposite, the diehard cynic) I'm gonna watch for sure..., but really glad to hear its not a bust-up like the last few. The movie calendar is suddenly looking a lot more hopeful, with a string of wait-worthy recent releases. Read More

Its all about the rule of emotions, the brain never even gets a word in, edgewise. I guess that's only right for a country with such low literacy. Does the truckdriver watching the movie after a 10 hour shift care about facts ? Critical thinking be dam/ned - they just wanna escape from reality. T...hese movies are not meant to be taken seriously. Yes, they didnt rip any other movie off, but what about true Hollywood style burn-the-place-down ending? :) GNS Read More

Havent even seen the movie, and wont, but your description restores my deep faith in the general congenital inanity of today's Bollywood, Amir included. My guess is we'll soon see him make a play for Neta-dom. Not that we expect Bollywood to provide answers to our socio-political issues. That's l...ike letting your 6-year old nephew order dinner, you end up with popcorn, and 6 kinds of icecream. When has idealized violence ever paid off? Of course, payoff or not, now and then the delicious thought of blowing off some people Terminator-fashion does come to mind in bad traffic, (Just daydreaming) On second thought - perhaps Amir did have a message ...'see, this is how people who try to change a system by force end up. Wish he woulda said so in the end credits. GNS Read More

If you compare this to Leon, and find it wanting, it won't surprise me. Both 90's films are about professional killers, but differently wired. But this film will definitely survive repeated viewing, for its cynical humor. John Cusack's writing team (Cusack, Jankiewicz, etc) responsible for Gr...Read more

I think many men also share that view. I mean, about getting away to live as an adult. (Although their definition of what that entails might be different :)) I would recommend everyone who could, to do what you did. Living on your own does change a lot of things. I've never wanted to live ...in one place forever. I wanna keep on wandering the earth. Have you read 'The Enigma of Arrival' by Naipaul? Wonderful read about home and arrival. GNS Read More

Some vitamins (A, D, E, K) are fat-soluble, not water-soluble. Which means the body needs some fat in the diet, or they will not be absorbed. An entirely fat-free diet is not recommended by doctors unless you are dangerously obese. It has been shown to cause premature hairloss, skin dry out, and... infertility in women. As a side note, most Ayurvedic medicines are prescribed to be taken with a spoonful of ghee (clarified butter). Even more tricky - the body reacts to very low calorie diets (800 cals or below) by assuming that a famine is on, and takes survival measures by slowing metabolism to reduce energy production, and storing away even more food eaten as fat..which means you gain even more weight. The only healthy way to lose weight is to be more physically active and spend more than your intake, and eat sensibly. GNSRead More

Saw another review that made it sound intriguing. Yours sounds like the only thing intriguing is - where in Bangkok will Sanjay Dutt NOT find fried wantons! Does that bother the script writer that its equivalent to searching for a pasta place in Italy or vada-pav in Mumbai? Not a bit. GNS

Actually, that twist in the end was a serious letdown. I was caught by surprise, definitely. But thinking about it later, it felt like an easy out - like the insanity plea to get out of crime. It would have been a much deeper movie without it, coz it was building up so great until then. And yes, ...the fight scenes were exhilarating. I could feel the adrenalin buzz myself. GNS Read More

I refuse to disown any side of my multiple personality :) There's no such thing as un-GNS-like. If it comes from GNS, it must be GNS, there is no ghost in my laptop ! What ur saying is this is not what you expected. well, ur responsible for your own expectations. To borrow the phrase from a... certain fella who has experienced this sort of 'golden-birdcage' of expectation, 'I yam what I yam, and that's what I yam. ' GNSRead More
