Reccession---hot topic of the year

Posted on Mar 19, 2009 under General

"RECCESSION" has become the hottest topic of the year all over the world....name a problem and it is attributed to reccession....meet anyone and he/she mentions recession atleast once during the topic...also predict months and dates when the same will end.like predicting weather...wonder wether even 5% of these people understand the meaning of recession or are just repeating news articles and others like them.
I for one admit that i do not understand much about the topic, but as a common man wonder why just the economy of one country can hamper growth worldwide in today's time when so many nations are independent and progressive. With so many qualified people around in all corporates all over the world, was there nobody who predicted this downfall or who invested wisely??? Jobs being cut left right and center...but what about top level jobs and their salaries.....the main people who could have averted this to a large extent....their salaries and jobs are untouched but lower and middle level people are losing their jobs...everday in newspapers articles are reported about recession....dont they have anything else to report?? In India the media plays a major part in influencing lives of the people...should not they be more responsible....they seem to enjoy printing any distressing reports daily till such time they get hold of another distressing article...then they keep pulling that...and the chain continues....money is being spent like water flowing in a river by the upper classes....parties and what nots.....good...no issues on tthat...but where is the recession at that time??? What I am trying to point out is
1--why bloat a matter more then necessary....ok so there is recession...point noted....cool..there have been such periods earlier also...phases.....will not stay for long...nothng lasts forever....
2--people should talk only of things which they have good knowledge about...or ask around and gain knowledge before speaking..half or wrong knoledge may be harmful to self and others....
3---read but do not believe everything u read....reading made don quixote a wise man....believing everything he read made him mad.

"BOMB"BAY

Posted on Dec 02, 2008 under General

Another holocaust, another outrage, another day and nothing..
that is what Mumbai is all about....let go a few days and another news will take the headlines and everybody will forget what has happened....with only those who have lost their loved ones nurturing the bitter memories.
Who failed? the misnisters/ politicians, the govenment, the intelligence??? who takes the blame? With everybody passing the ball this has become a regular game...as a result be prepared for more such tragedies to happen.
Lighting candles and sending sms will not help in preventing the same from happening again...only offers a bit of consolation.
To say that Mumbaikars are one and united and have a never-say-die spirit is all bull...the main thing is there is no easy option available...no infrastructure, no governing bodies, no body to cry out to and nobody to listen and action.
To pass n all the blame to Pakistan is also not justified....if my house is to be protcted, I should do it....
What is needed here is a public outrage..."seedhi ungli se ghee nahi nikalta"
Hit out at the politicians who have started this...those who use divisive politics taking religion and region as a measure...had it not been for the demolition of babri masjid it is very much possible that so much hatred could never have been fostered....do not be surprised if there is a civil war someday regarding even the different regions of our own country thanks to those politicians who never showed a face during this catastrophe but are first to divide the public on regional grounds and shout at the top of thier voices declaring love for Mumbai and the state...
A lot of efforts and measures will have to be taken if we do not want history to repeat itself. Firstly let people not get swayed by the sweet nothings of these politicos who have nothing to offer and so much to gain...how many of these politicos have suffered any personal losses during any of these tragedies?? NONE..
The police should help and initiate certain public groups - the commonmen from all localities (handpicked people after proper scrutinity) to monitor and inform about any irreglarities or suspicious activites in thier domains...Also imparting training regarding disaster management during such times to the public via classes and media would help save many lives...public awareness and help would definitely cut down the chances of such happenings...every police station shuld be made responsible for attending/investigating all such complaints however vague they may seem...it is a himlayan task but not impossible...v shuld also press for more educated and young politicians...no political party should be allowed to propagate on terms of religion or regions...
impart part military / self defence training in all schools and encourage patriotism amongst the children....let the media also grow equally responsible...do not show or publish any news which would harm the public just to get extra leverage for their channels/news papers...a lot can be done and will have to be done or else be prepared for more such attacks.

Raj's raj - 2

Posted on Oct 23, 2008 under General

Once there was the British Raj and now it is Raj's raj....both follow the policy of divide and rule...strange though that he still even after so many years has not learnt his lesson...the policy does not work long time....for a short period yes...but nothing after that...as for that i am still not clear about the party manifesto...is it the marathi manoos they are fighting for...and is suppose the name itself suggests nirmaan meaninng progress...but till i know they have been responsible for the death of atleast four marathi manoos, destruction of property of God knows how many marathi manooses and ofcourse destruction of property does not lead to progress...especially taking into account the current economical scenario.....so do they propose to make Mumbai progress??? and on top of it if the media is supposed to be believed, the statement during arrest was about being unaware and about other political parties purposedly trying to put the blame on the accused.....why not be man enough to admit the truth...is this the lot of the current politicians??? i dread to foresee how we will make progress...to beat and kill innocents in the name of community and to destroy property be progress then the future of Mumbai may not be so bright --forget Maharashtra....and considering all arguments to be true...just considering...what and who has stopped the local man from gaining positions in companies or driving taxis or taking up odd jobs or buisinesses??? those who had a flair and a penchant for doing thins have done it ---be it local or north /south indian....if u are really intent on helping the community then why not have special schems of finance and deucation made for them to progress in the right manner and keep up with the world rather then instigating violence and hatred amongst the common men??? as for the common man - no bigger fool existed then him...even as i write so many fromthe local to the non-locals support the above cited acts in one way or the other....they should realise that when the stone grinds, every grain is going to be sqashed...some sooner then the others but none will escape....such fanatism shluld be got rid off like a cancerous organ...otherwise the poison will not take long in spreading throughout theentire body....

NO SMOKING....

Posted on Oct 06, 2008 under General

Fully supporing the ban on smoking, though myself being a smoker (and i do enjoy my smokes), I am though just not supportive with the ban in pubs and especially bars.
The argument being that 90% of the people in bars are mostly smokers and the rest are also not there to become fit.At this point the rule seems a little bit too stretched up. After all its my life yaar and we are living in a democracy. Following the rules of other nations is ok but sometimes practicallity also plays a vital part. Most of the bars out here are fuctioning from a minimal space and now to create partitions and no-smoking zones is a lot to ask for....correct me if i am wrong but i think the license fees for creating a no-smoking zone is also double then normal. Then look at it this way, those who want to smoke will go out of the bars and smoke...drunk people standing on the road smoking and imagine the type of problems they can create - fights, eve teasing, ....the list can go on n on....within the prescints of a bar this alll does not happen much....a person drinks smokes eats and leaves.....the probabilities being very less...some reconsidering should be done....

GUDDI BUDDHI ZALI...PER AKKAL ALI NAHI

Posted on Sep 09, 2008 under General

He me nahi mahnte...but i do agree with the curennt day dictators on this point atleast ....after all what was the need for Mrs. Jaya Bacchan to comment on the Marathi issue...let sleeping demons lie asleep...especially in the current scenario did we need more issues??? she could have spoken in whatever xyz language she wanted to and moved on and nobody would have been rubbed onthe wrong side...true with the democaracy we can speak whatever we want to, but what is the point in aggravating an issue when it has just been made to lie down...even for a brief period....
Was it a political stunt or was it a promotional stunt...???
Definitely not expected though from someone of such a high and sobre calibre such as aamchi Mrs. Jaya Amitabh Bacchan.....

A little orhodoxy...

Posted on Sep 05, 2008 under General

Today whilst coming to work and as usual like many other times whilst walking on the sadaks of Mumbai, coming accross school kids, girls I talk about in the higher standards going around in fun and frolic...their school uniforms consisting of knee lenght or above cut skirts or dresses, tightly fits and all....well very honestly speaking even the senses of a person like me who himself is a father...living in a supposedly decent strata of society...falters. So then what happens to those criiminal minded or sex starved or those who care two hoots for the values of the society or thsoe who do not spare even their own children ???????????? Why not make the uniforms of all the girls comprise of a decent pair of pants and loose ittng blouses or a decent fit of salwar kameez??
After all whats wrong in that?? It is the rule of nature that sight aggravates emotions and feelings. I am not saying that even after doing the above there will be complete elimination, but it definitely will lessen the possibilities of any wrong doings.
This topic has been argued upon mainly by the high strata especially women on theri freedom of choice and bringing up girls in the global worls.....but to draw attention to the fact that all those from the above cateogories who argue other wise have their children escorted in a/c cars from one place to the other with servants at their beck and call ....what i am talking about is the basic security of middle class and lower rungs who cannot affford the above luxuries....whose daughters travel in busses and trains and walk most of the distances.....if by following the above even one girl is made safe then too it is worth it.....
think women think...

Controversial

Posted on Sep 04, 2008 under General

Controversial as it seems the new dictat by BMC to fine people in Mumbai who feed dogs and other stray animals and birds is not way off the mark.Perhaps the controversies picked up by the animal lovers is without understanding the meaning of the dictat. How I personally intrpret it is that feeding strays is not wrong but making a nuisance of it is wrong.
Nuisance in the very sense that dirtying the area by throwing the food around and the vehicles (with bird shit) consequently. Some of the dogs are ferocious by nature and bite people and little children, the cats and dogs sleep within the premises and hence the same starts stinking.
Ask those who have been bitten or are suffering because of this....It is not necessary that all those who support the BMC dictat are NOT animal lovers. I for one am very fond of all animals...so much to the extent that even if I see a small ant or insect in my house I do not kill it, but pick it up and drop it in the garden outside.
But then i am on the reciveng end as well...when my neighbours feed the dogs and crows outside my house and the way my two wheeler is dirtied, the seats torn off by cats, the crows pooing all over the place....that ticks me off and makes me wild...
In a nutshell do good in a way that it hampers nobody.
No nuisance created, no complaints made.....

in general

Posted on Aug 29, 2008 under General

furher to what i wrote, some very interesting views by people in newspapers....like with so many problems faced by mumbaikars why add another one?? why not deal with those first which require to be dealt with???
some more minor problems of the common man( in addition to those written y'day)
rickshaw and taxi drivers choose their destinations...try anhderi station ---getting a rick next to impossible ...or for short distances a cab....
or overflowing drains and nullahs all over the place...
or black marketing of movie tickets....(though reduced but not eliminated)
or try catching a seat from mumbai central station in outstation trains...though the compartments are vacant to the core still the some sort of mafia comes occupying the seats right form the yard and forces every person - yourng old male female --to pay various amounts per seat whilst the rpf looks on...any resistance and either u r beaten or thrown out of the compartment ...right in front of the eyes of the very watchful and "protective" RPF...
or the traffic policeman hidden at every signal who thnks catching offenders and finig them(official or not) is their only duty...never mind if an accident happens, or the traffic is in a mess or just not moving for half an hour....
or this or that and what not.....
do these problems need to be put up in the local language on signboards for the cutodians of the state to be seen and dealt with even though daily lakhs of people are suffering????
as a matter of fact dealing with these problems can get major votes and genuine ones at that...plus some blessings which may go a long way....
what say?????

Raj's raj

Posted on Aug 28, 2008 under General

Another day in Bombay...oops mumbai.....and very soon we may have to accesss marathi lingo web pages....as per the great dictat by the bodies who govern nothing but rule over everything in the garb of language, caste, relgion and region.
Correct to some extent but wrong in many. Mumbai on the whole cannot be compared to any state or city....it is an identity in itself in the entire world, second pehaps to new york only....the financial hub of Imdia and the major revenue provider to the government...and prhaps the only city which still extracts professional tax from the common salaried man...and after that what the mumbaikar gets is pot-hole riddled roads, crowded trains and busses beyond imaginations, riots, floodings at the drop of a rain, policemen raping minors, stupid dictats by education ministers and others....and now to add to it the marathi mania.
To try and make these upholders of the community understand the basics is beyond any mortals powers...but the people should awaken...to follow such leaders is nothing but craziness....at the end of all this rainbow stands the vote bank and finally the pot of gold....but for whom???
think buddy think....
