Seems this is becoming a habit. Or maybe a new trend in Bollywood. Spend loads on the promos and posters and witty one-liners between ''kyon ki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi'' and ''jassi jaise whatever''. its not about acceptance of facts. ofcourse these facts exist - they exist in every society, not just the media industry. I work in such an industry and i've never walked around with rose tinted glasses, so i don't think i was mortified and my faith in humanity shattered blah blah, i just have a pro...blem with the way certain 'facts' are presented. and that too, in an aesthetically disasterous fashion. so basically, lets see..what madhu bhandarkar is saying is....if you wear short skirts and party, you're bad (ooooh) but if you do social work and look pained, you are good. where is the middle ground? where are the greys which make things more interesting. where is the detail, the research, the story? sub-plots are forgotten or hastily wrapped up...i don't understand why people get so caught up in 'a good concept for a film' and then applaud it just for the idea and ignore its weakness in countless aspects of film making. a concept is not good film making. either you take it further and make it something great, or turn it into some mediocre trash smugly hoping your audience won't notice. On top of all that, people respond to this saying ' oh this is how the industry is, these are the facts' without knowing anything about it and belittle all the hard work others in the industry have done to get to where they are. the casting couch does exist, amongst other things, but the industry doesn't function on it. ofcourse if you want to be blindly misled by madhu bhandarkar, its not my problem. if u watch a partition film made by someone in pakistan, from their view point, does that mean you'll think indians are bad? because of those 'harsh realities' and facts? a view point or even a true experience does not make a fact for everyone elseRead More

i think it would be more appropriate if it was the director who got the slap in the face. i'd be happy to volunteer. if nothing else, he could have atleast tried to make it a technically good film. its not even that.. just a bunch of garbage that the fat aunties in my building discuss..i cou...ld just hear it from them instead of paying 100 bucksRead More

i cannot understand why you'd give a film like this 5 stars. its socially irresponsible to take a few sordid examples and then present this as the 'harsh reality'. granted, there must be lots of superficiality in a celebrity social circuit but to pronounce a generic judgement on everyone is bizarre.... afterall, these things occur in different degrees in our own middle class lives, we just choose to ignore them. i think its time madhu bhandarkar and alot of us get off our own high horses. not everything is just black and white, good and bad without context. he should know better than to make films such as this when his own conduct is under speculationRead More

And someone, please enlighten me as to when 'overworked' was synonymous with chatting about one's boyfriend... to another dyed blonde, and cross my heart, i truly did overhear such a conversation, whilst some poor choking blighter was probably in need of some life saving water....... toodles, your friendly neighbourhood doc (do wash your hands at all appropriate times)Read More
