Thanks for a scathing indicment of my review.I however stand by every single observation I have made in my review. As a consulting Neuro-psychiatrist,who has walked the face of this earth for a good 40 years,my busy schedule literally forces me to write reviews once in a while based on facts.Doormen ...used to open the doors of the cars a good 25 years back(incidentally ,I believe you are only 19, only in 1st. year I.T., and have come to Kolkata from Jamshedpur only very recently) ,when New Empire used to hold live concerts and Magic shows on its stage also.Barista has been there for a few months only,(can be confirmed from Mr.Ritesh Putatunda the brewmaster and store leader of Barista,New Empire) ,which as your goodself has rightly pointed out is a positive development. There was a Aqua Java coffee shop in the same place a few years back which closed down due to mounting losses. Also In New Empire the average price of the tickets on weekdays is actually lower than halls like Globe(in case of certain movies.though). Kolkata is the cultural capital of India and there is absolutely no dearth of its residents flocking to cinema halls showing Hollywood movies, resulting in Housefull status which is a boon time for black-marketeers). The observations regarding blackmarketing of tickets, have been off the record confirmed by the owner Mr John Mantosh himself who is as concerned about it as we are.He is also the owner of the adjoining Lighthouse cinema hall and the road lying in between the 2 halls. which he has closed down & have built a garment shop on its ground floor.I am extremely hurt with use of words like'How dare You...' especially coming from a teenager who is a fresher at a college and is a recent entrant to this city), but I still rate it as 'Very Useful' .I have rated it so, only because of the presentation style. To end I quote 'GOD HELP THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES'Read More

Thanks very much Lyla for U r review on Kidney stones, entitled 'Ouch!'.It was a really very honest account of your painful experience. You have also very nicely tried to explain the aetio-pathogenesis(cause leading to the formation ) of renal calculi(Kidney stones). The phenomenon of nephrolithiasis(...kidney stone) occurs due a a disbalance in the Calcium levels within our body.Just as an oyster produces pearls around a grain of sand, so too does the kidney produce stones around a calcium deposit. There are various types of renal calculi(kidney stones), the most dangerous being the staghorn type which is actually shaped like the horns of an antelope.Stones usually form in crops or groups and it is always advisible to have them removed by surgical procedure.Lithotripsy as mentioned by saravanan, an esteemed MS member, is useful for certain types of calculi(stones) only and leaves behind a certain possibility of recurrance(re-formation).Its advantage is virtual absence of pain (as compared to surgery). However it is much more costlier procedure. The very small calculi(stones) can actually be flushed out by the patient by drinking plenty of water just like water jets are used to flush out obstruction in drains. One should actually try preventive measures like avoiding consumption of Red meat(Beef,Pork,Mutton,Duck),Liver preparations,Kidney preparaions(e.g. Steak & Kidney pie) and some other foodstuffs.KEEP HEALTHY ALWAYS. Thanking you, With regards, DR.SUDARSHAN RAY.Read More

Arnab,It was an excellent review which brought out the anguish within you in very clear unambiguous terms.ICICI bank being the largest private sector bank in India is only interested in expansion(of its branches) and does not pay any heed to consolidation(of its existing branches) As a result servic...e suffers. The employees are sometimes downright rude, even their telebanking facility, strictly speaking a BPO, has arguably the worst personnel answering queries ,not to mention the shoddy service you recieved at one of their branches.Total management apathy to the human factor in customer relationship is the crux of the problem plaguing this mammoth institution.Well not all consumers(especially MS members)are sitting ducks this bank will understand sooner or later;but then it will be perhaps too late for rectfication of services of the 2nd largest bank in India(overall after SBI). Thanks lyla, It was very well written.Simplicity has always marked your reviews and lent it that vital touch of honesty. However,as a doctor and self-appointed oenophile(Wine affeccionedo),I wish to say that as far as health angle is concerned ,only red wine(claret to the British) has some proven u...sefulness when drunk in moderation.3 glasses(avg 120 ml)3 times a week helps the cardiovascular system because of its anti-oxidant properties.White and Rose' however do not make the cut as far as health is concerned. So also the sparkling wines and champagnes. However the review was excellent and as the heading suggests-Flavoufull!Read More

Dear Rushabh, Your comments regarding the Mercedes C -class are absolutely correct.I shied awayfrom buying this model because my fellow professionals (who have experiences similar to yours) have given their thumbs down to the Merc-C.Infact my fellow professionals from Mumbai have reported similar e...xperiences from the dealer Auto Hanger. When the MD,Daimler -Chrysler India(makers of Merc) was questioned about the poor sales figures in India even after 10 years in India,he reportedly quipped that Indians were still in the Ambassader age.The repartee from those presence was swift. They said there is only one word to sum up Daimler Chryslers' attiude-ARROGANCE.(Source-Automotive,Outlook Money,by Viresh Malik). So till DCI changes its attitude it seems the Merc owners will have to bear with their Merc-C white elephants.Maybe the MD(a through German) with scant regard for the consumers money should remember the old adage'PRIDE COMETH BEFORE THE FALL'Read More

Dear Mani, There is a clarification regarding my comments on the above. The Rs.2000 was invested as an individual in a company where other employees had also invested in the same plan in their individual capacities. Thanking you, DR.SUDARSHAN RAY.

Dear Mani, Thanks for reading my review & commenting on it.There are however certain debatible points in the same. The investment was done in ICICIPru Lifetime pension plan, where a sum of Rs.800 was deducted from the first premium of Rs.2000(it was a group insurance plan).Mathematically it works out... to be 40%.(Clarified as administrative expenses by the company later on)This was not mentioned by the agent while making the policy. The so called benefit illustration was also not given by the agent concerned who mentioned the sum assured only, in case of death of the insured. My main pt. of contention was investing when the NAV was highest with uncanny regularity,by the fund managers.I am not related in any way with any insurance company and hence my review was based solely on first hand experience of a consumer with no vested interest. Also my professional life(as a psychiatrist)does not provide me with the luxury of indulging in ''absolute nonsense' about a fund where money has been invested. The concerned agent was sent by the company and I believe it is also the duty of the 'Most transparent' insurance fund to ensure that their agents are presenting the plan in a 'Most transparent' manner. All said and done I am extremely happy regarding your comments on my review as it will definitely give me more teeth to question any future insurance policies presented to me by any fund.Read More
