Mine has had motorcylces go over it.. fallen on the road and has survived numerous near-fatal falls.. It lives on... probably the best phone in India. Would certainly buy the same one if this one dies...

Material Stuffed Magazine Femina
I liked the review... especially the part where you had stringed 'Sex' and 'grappled' in the same sentence... I would not touch the magazine with a 10 foot pole... but I guess it is really useful for a lot of people.

Stiff upper lip ; and a lot of stiffs Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels Movie
This movie was released in India... and in Chennai. It was a pretty long time back.. around 1999 types... But if you ask me if Dennis Farrina's statements were bleeped out... then the answer would be YES.. :) British movies are rarely screened for a long time in Amreeka too... :-).

Understanding--Swades Swades
I thought probably the exact opposite of what you had written about. I liked the performances. They were very well directed. The only thing i did not like was the overly starched sarees of the village people... The message was trite and idiotic. THe movie would be forgotten in 6 months time. ... The music was infact pretty good. the BGM was even better. It was remarkable how there had been great improvisation sof the songs in the BG. Its been quite a long time since i heard such good music in a Hindi movie... not since Meenaxi. Probably you just missed the ubiquitous dholak and the tabla... Update: (Reckon ? you are a slightly more educated version of svjayalakshmi I 'guess') :)Read More

A few questions General Tips on Media
America is changing. PG-13 movies got a better rating. Why dont any of the theatres even follow the rating system ? http://www.nynewsday.com/entertainment/movies/sns-ap-film-hollywoods-year,0,2441503.story?coll=nyc-enthome-movies

Black - a let down Black - Bollywood
After watching the movie, I thought SLB had chosen wealthy parents and anglo characters for these reasons.. 1. To go for the Oscars... 2. So that people focus more on Michelle's handicaps and no tthe handicap of her parents... (if they are poor... there are more tribulations that will indirectly... affect Michelle). So in this context, I would like it if we do feel some sort of 'otherwise ethereal' location is necessary. Basically I would say if Mani Ratnam with his earthy relatable characters had made this movie, it would have become a commercial success but the plight of the blind deaf person would have not been so poignantly put across.. For example, he made a movie called Anjali.. people rarely spoke about the retarded and Down's Syndrome after it... right now people focus on the blind and deaf atleast in their reviews.Read More

Rural and forgotten Uzhavan Songs
I would not say that the music coming out is trash.. and the movies have always been trashy or good depending on perspective. No remarkable change... :-).
God by numbers ?? Sachin Tendulkar
Yes that is probably why I had named the thing that... its just numbers... no poont in writing a few more words inspired by thesaurus which everyone knows.
Actually it did not take me long.. not to brag but the powers of the statsguru are limitless... It takes less than 10 minutes with a fast internet connection to compile such data. This is only for the last 5 years... and If you compile the data for the years he has been in his peak.. it would be... too onsesided even to compare.Read More

Life is waiting for the movie to end The Terminal Movie
movie was good if you take out the Steven Spielberg factor out. It was a 'romantic comedy'!!! which was at best a very well made Hindi movie.
As Kaipullai would have said about Sharjah... 'That was last century'... My point exactly in writing this... there is absolutely no need to compare Sachin and Dravid. India cannot be what it is without either.

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - Robin Sharma
Personally I dont think such books have practical use in life. They could be read for language probably. Ultimately the entire book could have been paraphrased into one catch phrase... 'Just do it'. Basically what you would end up doing after you read this book is take a 1 week holiday in Haw...aii and come back saying.... 'Oh i miss my workplace/home/husband/wife' and go back into the same drudgery.Read More

''DEAD SOULS'' : The final chapter Ghostphotos
I have a question... a doubt actually.. Would be glad if you clear it up.... How are souls created ? Basically what you are saying is that the souls get transferred from one body to another... then considering todays population, would you say that there are somebodies without a soul ? Where ha...d all these souls been before population explosion ?Read More

Hugh gallagher is great. ''I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling vertical cliffs and crushin...g ice with my eyelids. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of interstellar travel. I kill people with common house hold items and dont even think twice about it. I flip out all the time. I give women flippant answers all the time and I dont think twice about it. I always have a cool thing to say even in the most hopeless situations. I have often set world records by scaling obtuse cliffs in my tricycle with unflagging speeds while talking on my cell phone with my mother-in-law. I manage time efficiently. Occasionally, I survive on rhye bread and icicle dripping for three days in a row. I woo women with my sensuous blues trombone playing, I can cook 2 minute noodles in twenty second flat. I was once the president of my class in school, a veteran from world war 2, and have loved 6 women in continuous sequence. Using only a hoe and a large glass ofwater, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I invented bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Chennai Veerans. I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When bored, I build nuclear reactors in my back yard. I enjoy terrestrial hang gliding. On Wednesday after work, I repair electrical appliances for the blind free of charge. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. Last summer I toured the earth with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. My batting average is 99.3. I am an abstract artist, an accomplished cook, and a ruthless gambler. Small children trust me. The laws of physics dont apply to me. While on holiday I once negotiated with a whale to give up its breathing hole. I think green house effect is a bunch of blue whale vomit. I am always immaculately dressed and my eyeglasses are making a fasion statement all around the universe. I pay my bills on time. I once read the Bhagvad Gita, Mein Kampf and the Suitable Boy in one day and still had time to build a space craft from used car parts. I know the location of every food item in the supermarket. During weekends, when I am free I regularly win square dancing and street snowboarding competitions. I can dance tango alone. I sleep once a week, and when I do, it's always standing-up. When I was a child, I discovered the meaning of life, but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a spoon and toaster oven. I breed prize winning pigs. I have an IQ of 210. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin. I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery on Martha Stewart, and I have spoken with Elvis twice.'' . I am developing these things called opinions about everything around me. It is part of growing up I believe. Someone said opinions are like a - holes. I like mine. I am sure you will like mine. Offlate I have taken a tremendous interest in posting obscure comments on peoples reviews... It is part of a social experiment I am conducting to find out who is more jobless than I am. So guys.. humour me. Read More
