To be honest, even when I thought of the cons as I reviewed Mohan Deep's "The Five Foolish Virgins", I could think of'Ruthless exposure of Bollywood' - positively. It is a writer's job to be honest and if an image suffers so be it! I loved the novel.and would recommend it to everyone.

Mohan Deep's 'Madhubala' can be compared with the best star biographies in the world! His writing is literary, objective and dispassionate. Unlike the less literate and semi-literate biographers who end up being fans and chamchas, Mohan Deep elevates the book to the highest level.
Honesty in appro...ach, objective investigation and scrupulous research takes this biography to a high level. The subject of a biography, whether it is a film star or a political figure, has to be treated as a person. The weaknesses, the frailties, the flaws need to be explored and understood. This is the only way you see the real person.
The approach of a biographer must be different from a foolishly smitten fan.
Mohan Deep really understands what a biography is. Mohan Deep's biography of Madhubala is a path-breaking exercise. Any student of cinema or literature can learn a lot from his book.
