The Economist must be allowed to print in India, and for India, they must subsidize the price. I agree that perhaps Rs 80 is a good price for a copy on the news-stand, but a lot of people may not be able to afford that. Also, I do not think that the vast majority in India, will want to spend Rs 14,0...00 on a magazine subscription. I would purchase the Economist first, if I were to purchase any magazine, other than Newsweek, but it is not available on the news-stands in Belgaum, Karnataka, India.
